Well they're not going to charge you immediately are they? Book it in to be done next month? Oh and yes, just tell your insurance, that's what you pay them for.

You pay the excess to the fitter on the day.

That your company has, quite frankly, shit on you. For want of a better word.

It all got a bit A-B for me yesterday, I gave my boss a lift to the airport - we both have company cars. It was her realisation as we drove along of "Hang on, yours has satnav. And how many gears? Is that a digital radio? It feels faster than mine too. Is this a better car than mine?"

This was a great place for cycling, dog walking, leisurely strolls, running and jogging etc. Was.

It's the Millennium Path between Deeside and Chester. It's (supposed to be) completely free of traffic.

Of course, any increase in crimes around the area will be PURELY coincidental and they will leave the lane pristine and rubbish-free, definately not costing the council a high five figure sum to clean it up when they do finally leave.

I have and its being looked at again. The breather hole had blocked so this was fixed and we had thought it was the reason it had failed in the first place but it might not have. Its being looked at tomorrow.

Got a call this morning, it needs a new box  :-(

I did ask why this was not checked before fitting new seals and i will pop down later on.

I can get a box on ebay but really not keen, i have no idea whats its come off, could be some high millage skip. Bit annoyed.

Garage should find and fit a recon gearbox at a reduced rate. Apologises for the cock up.

Pikeys are in the local paper. Against massive local opposition the council builds a temporary pikey stopping area. They will be able to force pikeys from the parks etc to this place, where they will pay rent and stay for a maximum of 14 days.

Our local (Labour) council are wanting to build not one but three of these pikey camping areas against massive local opposition. The local MP (LibDem) has actually been very good in opposing it but surprise surprise the council have decided to defer their decision on whether they build them until after the election in which the utterly useless council leader is standing as Labour candidate (and might well win). I wonder what the decision will be then.  Cunts.

So... political discourse in the run-up to the most important general election in a generation is a no-no, but casual ethnic discrimination is OK?  This place, etc.

Pikeys are not, nor ever will be, an "ethnic group". I'm aware that there's some legal BS clause somewhere that says they are, but that doesn't make it so. If there was a 'law' stating that apples are root vegetables, it wouldn't suddenly become true.

Old-school Roma gypsies could indeed be an ethnic group, if they still existed here in any form, which I doubt. They had a clearly-defined culture and appearance that seperated them from anyone else.

However, obnoxious cretins who live in crusty Sprites and trash acres of land out of spite, and are only here because the Irish hate them even more than we do, do not qualify for any such distinction.

I bought a Nextbase 402G dash camera. Having spent bloody ages fitting the power cable neatly to the Rover, I've just discovered that the camera is faulty. Bollocks.

Great planning by the roads people last night.

The A1 was closed at Retford for s/bound traffic and the overhead signs kept telling everyone that the M1 was closed from j28 - 26.

Well done - just the f**** M6 to go lads before all arterial routes were goosed.

Planning by a blind man corp.

Sure it wasn't an accident? As at 4pm there was no notice of any planned closures on the M1, not even at 24 where they're doing a new junction.

Aaagghhh my bloody internet security 'Trusteer Rapport' has gone missing and now will not re-install properly (Probably a bug that removed it and not allowing it to install again) so its been a day of speaking to Trusteer and trying to get to the bottom of the issue....until its sorted I cant really do anything online as my laptop is effectively unprotected.....no doubt some low life hacker is watching me type this....and no I will not be using online banking until this is all sorted, nice try w*nkers.

Trusteer rapport is one of buggiest crappiest pieces of software I have come across in a while. I used it a couple of years ago when my bank, Santander, insisted but it made my pc run like shit, so I ditched it, I also ditched Santander.

If you are sure you need it, have you tried fully removing it then re-installing it from scratch? you need to get a special un-installer tool from them to remove all traces of it. Once it's fully removed reboot and try to re-install

Yep done all the above. I sent them a Trusteer Log report, so just waiting on them to come back now..

Its never slowed down my PC or caused any issues that im aware of.

Can't say I've ever noticed any performance issues with it

As the primer part of my XM's diesel filter began to leak which is a common failing I bought a bargain new generic assembly off ebay.

Unfortunately not only have I had to make a new mounting plate because it's designed to bolt on at 90 degrees to the original but the banjo bolts bottom out before the diesel pipes are tight. I'm going to have to see if Halfords will sell me some extra copper washers in the morning to bodge it.

Oh and of course just after I'd ordered the thing I discovered that you can get a rebuild kit for the original filter housing...

After being a bit suspect for a week or two the starter motor gave up the ghost in work's car park.

Polish guy nearby put a new battery on it to get it going then replaced the starter.

Bought the new battery off him too as the old one was very old and not the right one for the car anyway.

He was rushed off his feet but still made time to do it quickly as he knows I and my son are reliant on the car for work.  His charges are always reasonable and he sold me the battery for what it cost him.  Excellent person!

He fixed my eldest son's crap X-trail this morning, again in a rush as he had to be back in London tonight.  40 cars waiting and he still put him at the head of the queue!

I'd suggest a crate of Lech/Tyskie or similar might be a worthwhile present for him? These kind of people are well worth keeping sweet :-D

It's a looooong time since I've run Windows on anything I internet bank on (not being a non-Windows snob, it just ended up that way), but the last I saw of Trusteer Rapport it was meant to be used in addition to anti virus/anti malware software for a bit extra protection. AVG and Avira do a good enough antivirus gratis, and Malwarebytes is good for finding malware. It might be that they pick up something nasty that is causing Rapport to break.

I had a bad experience with it once, where I was asked to look at a PC that wouldn't boot so I ended up wiping it and getting it working again, but the first time the owner did online banking they installed Rapport and it hosed the PC again, but to be fair I know a lot of people that use it with no issues.

After a mate had a big huge mahoooosssive fraud on his bank acount I set up a wiped old pc with all the security set to paranoid level and only use it for banking,  no surfing/emails ever ever ever.

And with Trusteer rapport obv.

The only way to beat the bastards.

Experts reckon always manually  type bank address url as well. dont ask me why.

When a well known banks  head of security was sacked/jailed for fraud  you do start to wonder if perhaps honesty might be a thing of the past.

Amazon must have a meeting every morning called "How can we make our website shitter and more annoying?"

FREE DELIVERY often advertised, but only if you order over £10, the moon is aligned in a certain way, it's a certain day in the month, etc, then they still try and change it to a more expensive option. Well if I'm buying something under £10, then I might as well buy it in a shop than pay for delivery and have to wait.

Even more stupid is having a link that says "Why not get it delivered to a Click and Collect location", which happens to be my local Post Office. You click on that, then it says it's too big to be delivered there (some bedding, not a wardrobe or something), but it is too big for the letterbox. WHAT IS POINT.

The MP3 cloud download thing has a pointless limit of not being able to download a full album of songs on Linux, there is absolutely no technical reason for this other than to be arseholes, the chances are that their shitty website is RUNNING on Linux. At least they have changed the number of downloads you can choose at a time to 6 or something from what it used to be, 1.

Also, how many times per day do I have to decline "Amazon Prime"? I get emailed about it, postal spammed about it and still haven't signed up a year later, FUCK OFF and stop asking.

I bought solar fairy lights for the back garden. I stapled them to an old tree and waited for night fall so I could see my display but somehow it just looks like I've got the ghost of a drunk elvis pissing on my fence .
