The lady who owns our house is very ill and apparently is selling up. We have been given some choices:

 

Buy it - not a hope in fucking hell, valued at 250k, we have £350 savings...

It gets bought by an investor and we stay but pay increased rent/stop having a nice old lady as our landlady

It gets bought and lived in - us out on our ear

 

2 months notice will begin shortly I think, fucksticks

 

You can get 95% mortgages again now. If you don't have the money for the deposit you could borrow it. For example, up here rental prices are so high you are much much better off getting a mortgage compared to renting and the cost of the loan could potentially be absorbed in the difference.

 

Its worth crunching the figures to see what you can do. It might be a no go, but with incredibly high rental rates you never know.

 

I have no idea of rental prices are relative to house prices across the country though.

I'm touched that we've been given first refusal to buy it, but Amy spoke to her sister, and then they bought their house 15 years ago, with a combined income of nearky £50k, they got a £180k max mortgage, what chance to we have in this day and age wit ha combined income of about £35k!

I was hopeful, but as you say, it's just not going to happen! If the current lettings agent gets his mortgage guy involved I'll happily listen to the figures to see, but won't hold my hopes up!

Grrrrrrr so as you may be aware the Giffer special doesnt like starting in the morning although up till now it has started at all other times and i have resorted to parking on a hill at night so i could bump start it  .... i have changed the glow plugs and the relay to no good effect... Normally i would have looked at the battery first but the seller told me it was new and it looked it. Anyway it failed to start after work today so without enough people to push it in desperation i got my jump leads on it and it fired up first time.... Bought a new battery for it on the way home and if it starts in the morning i will be even grumpier than i am now.....

When I read this I thought there may be some underlying reason why he was trying to do himself in. Therfore 3 years off might have been appropriate. But the video showed a  complete idiot and the story proved it. Whats the betting he drove to the dole office today to arrange the payments for his new car !!!

I seem to be getting annoyed on a daily basis about the number of cars driving in the dark with faulty lights. 

My daily commute is less than 2 miles but I can usually count around 10 cars with faulty lights.
