I never been on it to be fair but don't see the point of the FB group at all. Seems to me that interesting* stuff that could be posted here gets posted there instead. Better to keep it here I'd have thought.

Yes, people are finally cottoning on now.

I've been trying to say this since the first mention that an AS FB page existed. If you've owt worth posting, post it here, where it belongs. Ta.

Right, I've tried to Download that Elton John song 'Out of the Blue' my PC is utterly fucked, it just flatly refuses to work correctly without it going into a hissy fit and ruining my files. The song did come out but cuts off at various intervals which when played on this bloody tablet thing just stops completely at these intervals.

Does anyone have a copy of this song they can send me please. Meanwhile I shall replace said PC with good working freebie PC I got given last year.

The advantage of Faceache used to be that you could use it for photo storage, but with the new forum there's 2.93Mb per post of images allowed, and thus I'm able to upload this picture of a nice pair of Bristols - although this is meant to be the grump thread!

Thankfully, I do not need my jaw to type for it appears to have fallen off at the sight of that pair of Brizzers.

I've just managed to kill a bunny. It ran into the back wheel of the Kawasaki at 60mph. The surprising thing is I didn't actually feel the impact on the bike, I hope for the rabbit it was just as painless.

Who was it saying Outlook (hotmail replacement) is crap? - I agree it's just fucked up a load of stuff for me at work beacuse it's refusing to send things.
But iTunes still tops my list of useless flawed software.

Posted

About four months ago, ITunes ruined a hard drive - I have a lot of mp3's and it just destroyed it.

Last night it ruined another hard drive (brand new 2TB one) - it seems to be a problem with it I haven't experienced with any software before - destroying a hard drive ffs?

Obviously refuse to use it from now on.

Posted

You mean it's physically unusable? I know itunes is massively wastefull of resources but I've never heard of that.
Still looking for a decent ipod compatible bit of software to use instead of it. Watanabe suggested sharepod, but I didn't like it.

Posted

Yeah man, itunes is completely unusable toss but there's absolutely no way it could actually destroy a single hard drive let alone two. It doesn't have any deeper access to the hard drive any any other program.

Posted

Mediamonkey - I used it for years, and it does the IPod thing as well as Itunes. It's good for massive music libraries, and it doesn't destroy your hard drive like Itunes does. It seems to spazz out and corrupts your drive.

I think my brain is totally out of control possibly due to lack of alcohol.  I had a message on my mobile from someone interested in the smart and just as they're reading their number out my finger (for no reason I decided on and before I wrote the number down) came down and press "3" on the phone to delete the message.

Check the call logs.  If they left a message, their number should be there.

Nope, I've got an iphone which only receives calls when it feels like it, which is about 40% of the time.

The company I work for moved office to one of those nondescript newfangled business parks (Didsbury Towers).

Overall not a bad move from where we were previously, apart from the car park being entirely void of Autoshite.

Unless I park some of my chod there that is.

How is it possible to live in Essex and not track down a series of complete and utter oxygen thieving morons and smash their bastarding heads in?

Get woken at 4am by a crash and almighty howling. I live on the third floor and my cat suddenly decided to jump out the window, slipped on the wet ledge and fell onto the ground. Just rushed him to the vets and whilst he's still up and moving, his lower lip looks in a bad way and he's broken and at least one tooth. Now just sitting by the phone waiting to find out if he's fractured his jaw.

The worst part? Despite having shown no inclination to every try and jump out in the time I've had him, I bought a window guard yesterday but didn't get round to putting it up

Under seal.

I'd been meaning to do the van for ages and finally found the time yesterday. The plan was to scrub and paint the underside but my supply of red lead mixed with some grey zinc shit was only enough to do the chassis rails so the bucket of tar was applied to the rest (well until I'd had enough anyway). My face, hair, arms, legs also got nicely coated, had to wash with turps to get it all off the bastard stuff.

The computers at work....

I work for a local authority on the South Coast. When I started there 5 years ago as a wet behind the ears boy fresh from uni I would describe the computers as obsolete, now everything is positively falling apart...

We are meant to be in the middle of an upgrade, except my team aren't because of 1 lousy software incompatibility problem.

As a result if we get problems IT aren't interested in sorting things out, and now we have a mix of network issues and PC issues. This has dragged on for a few months, with 1 server in particular being woeful, but in the context of that, today has been abysmal.

It was like imagining the computer being powered by 2 hamsters. Except 1 of them has carked it, and the 2nd one is the asthmatic 1 who needs to take breaks every 5 mins. This is then backed up by a selection of networks and servers so slow that a snail moving a grand piano would be faster. After 2 long network drop-outs this morning, and 2 occasions when IE7 (can't upgrade that either) just shut itself attempting the strenuous task of opening a text document I headbanged the keyboard, shut everything down and just left.

Car clubs.

Right, so when I want something off you it's the last one ever made and all the money, but if I'm selling something it's worthless and you're allowed to low ball me worse than a comedown?

Oh.

That's how capitalism works. If you don't like it then move to Russia.
