Had to spend ages with screenwipes cleaning my windscreen, a layer of something all over it, took bloody ages.

I wonder if it could be due to a clogged pollen filter.

I rarely use the car, my son uses it for work every night and of course the screen gets initial condensation until the aircon starts working.  He wipes it off with the back of his hand by the look of it and makes a smeary mess.

Taking it for its MOT I thought they might fail it.  It did need cleaning anyway, of course.

I use this stuff , not cheap but you don't need a lot ...

The old fashioned pink Windowlene is good for this too but can be very messy to use.
Sprog's car here suffers from this problem - vape juice is the problem there. Coats the inside of the screen - what does it to to their lungs then?

try super strong vinegar , ie 9% , from Waitrose , Polish shops , it strips off dirt quite well

I have 10L of that here, will give it a go.

Son and DIL will think that I have had fish 'n chips for tea.

I would normally use a dedicated glass cleaner or isopropanol/meths but was in the car park at the mechanics.

Went through without much trouble. Well, new discs and pads.

Don't they come with GPRS these days to allow 'misplaced' ones to be found?

Why do garages always seem to overlook pollen filters?

Some pollen filters are in horrible fiddly locations for access, the smell from really old ones is like wet dog…then others are a piece of piss  mk2 galaxy was a pain from memory.

Scum I hope their loved one needs it so they have a lifetime of anguish.

Better yet, hopefully when they try playing with it at least one of them will get electrocuted and possibly suffer a heart attack.

Can't happen; the things are very safe and won't shock anyone with a normal-ish heartbeat.

Happened near me. Turns out it had been used and ended up joining the fella in the ambulance. Was eventually found and returned

Passed a vape store yesterday. Their window ads almost implied if it was actually a healthy thing to do.

I've been vaping on and off since it first became a relatively common thing a decade ago. I can tell that it's not a healthy thing to do, the marketing is bordering on evil I think.

It's handy for keeping you off the fags, but it's actually harder to give up than smoking. If you look at the nicotine content of a disposable vape, it at a glance seems like it's about 40 fags worth of nicotine, but the form they use has been engineered to be more addictive, along with the flavours that prod the fun bits of your brain.

I predict within a decade it'll be much more heavily regulated and all of the vape shops will be replaced with dispensaries selling another wonder drug which will likely be legalised at some point, which I'm not sure is any better.

A trick few people around me used is to switch to vapes, then gradually switch to nicotine-free ones and they usually ditched them by the time they finished off 5th or so.

One of my mates was a heavy smoker (of weed and cigarettes) and vapes.  One of his lungs completely collapsed a couple of months ago and the specialist advised that he needed to quit all three or he would die.  He's 35.

We'll see where the research takes us but the fact a consultant is citing vapes as part of the issue suggests to me where the research is going...

Christ, that's grim, and puts the horrible cough I've been having on and off recently into perspective.

I don’t doubt at all vapes are bad for your health

i filled up the one I got a few days ago and it’s still not empty yet

i have a few puffs early in the morning, few at mid day and then a few before bed

i must admit I am already feeling tons better

mind you I did used to smoke 40-50 cigs a day

had zero desire for a cigarette since

Incidentally, when it's apparent that it's a scam call. ie. It's not from my mother, or my mother in law's number, I've taken to lifting up the receiver and replying with the words, "Hello, Saint Mary Mead Two Three Six". It doesn't seem to fit the script and 90% of the fuckers hang up.

Thought I'd chuck this weeks invoice in a day early so I could have a bottle of wine or something tonight.

Paypal says HAHA FUCK YOU and is having international problems, so the payment has come through but my balance is showing as zero.

Great.

I don't know about PayPal but AMEX seems to have some sort of time delay at times, the balance o/s and the account can differ. This seems to be time zone related. I guess what I'm trying to say, badly, is that it may come through later when the two parts get 'in synch'.

It normally goes through instantaneously!

It was to do with this:

All sorted now though!

Just another example of my generation's obsession with instant gratification!
