Hand dryers that blow water onto you crotch as soon as you put your hands under them.

This big bitch pulled out of a side junction, I saw her from miles away. What makes me grumpy is the Cactus horn. She pulls out, I hit the horn and it sounds like a homersexual clown farting.

All new Citroen’s have the same horn and I guess, it stops you using it in anger.

It needs a city or country two tone horn. Country all the time obv.

Won a stereo on ebay.

Seller messaged to say he's not posting to Northern Ireland.

I replied with:

"The listing says you will post to the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Also you've stated you will send via Royal mail, they do not charge any extra to send to or from Northern Ireland so I'm not sure what the issue is?"

I then got a message from ebay telling me the seller has cancelled the order as "there was a problem with your address"

There's no problem with my address matey. If you'd taken it to the post office as stated they would have taken the same money off you and sent it to me no question.

I sell plenty of stuff on ebay and the royal mail charge me the same whether I'm sending it next door or to that there London

Yep, if you have a BT postcode, it's all good.

What's the listing? I'll buy it, have it shipped to Marlow then forward it on if you want? Providing its not mega £££

Annoying isn't it. Still, gives one a good excuse on the odd occasion that one does actually get piss everywhere.

Mental health still on the wank, meds not working and really don't want to take more as they just make me dopey and don't address my problems.

Want to see a quack but all that has to go through Healthy Minds apparently and that's a load of rubbish.

Had to apply for another delivery job with a company that's recently set up in Manc as can't get work for shit any more.

Social life is eroding around me for various reasons that can't be helped.

For fuck's sake.

Have you had and therapy, or anything other than med's?

Been all over the news. Another reason why I don't touch online banking.

Interesting; we pay the same rate to post within ROI as ROI to NI, mainland uk is quite a bit more

Northern Ireland is uk postage rates from Surrey. ROI is eu rates.

Cheers for the offer, but he was a bit rude in his original message so I can't be arsed dealing with the spanner.

Annoying thing is he was insistent on me cancelling the sale, I could have had him post it to a mainland address as you suggested etc.

Awk well. Gave him negative feedback but I'm over it now

This.  I have one of these fitted to the Rover 45 (wired up to the main horn switch in addition to the two factory windtone horns) and it's pretty effective - certainly wakes people up.  If I were keeping the Perodua I'd probably fit one to that, it'd be a vast improvement over the meeeep  of the standard horn, which is only marginally less embarrassing than the pffrrrrrrrt  noise that PSA horns make.

At least they warned us internet banking would not be available, admittedly not 96 hrs as it appears to be now - I hoiked out £200 in cash just before meltdown, but to be fair I've had no hassle with debit card transactions. Would be nice to see what precisely is going on with my bank account but, meh, tis only cash....

Current position...

I can't believe their new system was released when it obviously wasn't ready. Didn't anyone test it in a live environment first?

I did user testing for a system some years ago. It wasn't ready and I logged at least 20 key functions that the system couldn't process during my test session with it. Reported it as unfit for use but was rebuffed as nothing but a "negative nancy who can't stand progress"

Two weeks later it went live.....

Two hours after that the old system was switched back on as the new one was total shite and nobody in the organisation could do the simplest things with it. Makes you wonder if the same system developers now work at TSB!

My understanding is that a lot of old TSB accounts are still embedded within Lloyds old system, so the idea was to extract the data and somehow match it up to TSB's current system. Doomed to fail.

Happens so many times - even at work we have 'issues' with our system following improvements/upgrade* which is akin to working with both hands tied behind your back and not even an abacus for comfort.

Don't even begin to talk to me about new systems being implemented before sufficient testing. I've been on both sides, as the user and tester, and equally frustrated.

Basically, someone sets a date somewhere and there is a mad scramble near the end, and someone somewhere says 'yeah that'll do' which usually means 'its broken but not thaaaaat broken. We hope.'

One place I worked at had seven incompatible systems across their organisation. Shortly after laying off most of the I.T department they decided to merge all seven onto one by the end of 2012.

Hasn't happened yet!

It's my job to avoid issues like the two current fun! On a smaller scale though. I've delayed our next release by a week today with an issue found. Makes me happy...

That's the whole basis of Microsoft, no?

I know that Santander gets a lot of flack but I have yet to have any problems with them.

Santander's problems seem to involve mainly fraudsters spoofing its call centres and getting account holders to transfer large sums of money to them.

Have had CBT in the past, didn't help so was referred to a counsellor - my mum has been through the same system as she has OCD and said it was rubbish too, until she got more specialised help that I never managed, the CBT girl just had me sent to a general counsellor that latched on to the wrong things. Just kept going in circles so he discharged me as didn't know what to do. I need help higher up but can't get anyone to understand that.

Actual full-on therapy appears to be hard to get here.

On the subject of I.T I had a GDPR meeting today. That was quite enlightening and downright terrifying from an IT perspective.

One thing to look out for if you work in customer services - new rules allow anyone to request details of information action you hold about them FOR FREE and you have to respond within 30 days although you can drag it out a bit if you can't process them fast enough.

A group on the dark web is planning to hit some large organisations with a shitload of requests on day one - it will be like a paper based denial of service attack.

So anyone in admin, complaints, or customer services, it might be worth mentioning that overtime claims could be increasing in your department soon...

Best of luck to you.  I've been on 'both sides' of mental health.  As a client and an employee for a mental health charity.  If you want to chat or just to rant, feel free to PM me.  If not, that's cool too.

Sorry for your troubles Ghosty.

One thing that would make me depressed in your situation is the lack of steady work, is there nothing at all around that would give you more reliable hours?  Even if it's a bit shit?  Or even volunteering at something like a charity bike fixing place?

I know that's easy for me to say 'just get a better job' but your zero hour contract work can only be adding to your issues.

Seconded.

I've struggled with 'things' in the past too - they're kinda raising their heads again at the minute.  Of course just as many other things start being difficult in life...

Also always available for chat or hang outs.

Totally understand Ghosty - you're far from on your own mate.

Offshoring can fucking do one.

Sat on a call (at work) with India trying to get something set up and a skilled U.K. based worker could’ve sorted it out in a fraction of the time.

But that’s more expensive

Despite it being a really expensive service from a really big company we have outsourced it to who have fucked it off to the cheapest shittest labour they can find
