omegod Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I've been tracking this after it was skilfully spotted by another member from his office window, as I suspected it's turned up at copart in Newbury with just a scab on the wing and a rear light lens cracked. I consider this to be weapons grade shite and needed to make sure the right people see it ! I won't be bidding but it's no reserve and I have a copart account if that helps anyone https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/28681519 chodweaver, Burnside, Tamworthbay and 21 others 24
beko1987 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 My boss is asking me of we can save it... I said I'm too skint but crack on! Dick Cheeseburger 1
omegod Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 Come to think of it I know of a Mk1 in a local scrappy that may have the right rear light on it if they are the same
beko1987 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Ha and skilfully? I saw the top deck and went SCRAP WAGON! 5 of us bolted to the window which surprised me slightly, even better were the people who agreed with me that the seat was fit! D Spares & Tyres 1
Tamworthbay Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 So if someone bid the minimum £100 what would the fees on top be? Just curious, I have enough projects at the moment.

omegod Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 do you have all the reg for it?? No, not usually concealed but a phone call to copart would probably get it
320touring Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 This would look good next to my K plate Toledo.. Luckily I have no money/space or time
Jim Bergerac Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Depending on the Mot status and if it goes for a suitably low sum, this might be a good call for the hive mind roffle suggested elsewhere? If it helps re the identity the VIN plate is visible on the Copart link. Cavcraft, Kringle and chodweaver 3
Jim Bergerac Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Done some detective work with help from a mate, plate is J143RJM. Mot history looks decent for recent years. Burnside, beko1987, egg and 5 others 8
beko1987 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Pretty fucking spotless mot history on it! Tested until July too Lacquer Peel and Tamworthbay 2
bramz7 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 If anyone wins this, I can potentially store it for a short period of time at mine, on the condition you insure it and tax it. loserone 1

djoptix Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 So in theory you could bid 1p and pay £25.01 total?I fixed that for you.
Tamworthbay Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I fixed that for you.Nope, no option for pennies unless you have to sign in to do that. It also says bid increments of £100 hence my earlier question.
ruffgeezer Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I'll chip in a few quid to save it. I've wanted a go in one since we had one at the scrapyard I worked at around 20 years ago.
loserone Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Has noone bought this yet? Two randoms please. chodweaver, Supernaut and Kringle 3
beko1987 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Has noone bought this yet? Two randoms please.Jesus that's the ultimate roffle addition right there! You have no idea if it'll be 0.3p or £75 a ticket but you want in, Kringle and LightBulbFun 2

Alanism Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Having never used Copart before is it as simple as pay them 50 quid and then be allowed to bid online for any auctions they are involved with? I know I could have phoned their customer service team and ask but I wanted to find out what Copart is like to use in the real world.
omegod Posted March 12, 2019 Author Posted March 12, 2019 You need to pay them membership and then provide ID via email and await approval, mine took a few days to come through Alanism 1
Jim Bergerac Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Anyone able to make a plan for this then? There's probably a way to put our heads together and make a collective plan, but think the best thing is to keep the thread ticking over so anyone who might want to save it notices. Plenty of people prepared to help a buyer, and I can't see it making a large sum as nobody's bid yet and the parts or export opportunies for a few 28 year old Seat aren't numerous
beko1987 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I'd love to help, and could possibly clean and polish it with some notice as it's not a million miles away, but could never afford to outright buy it. We could crowdfund it, all do bits of work as needed then either one big roffle for forum funds or similar and it goes to someone who does want it as a daily , or get it to ruffgeezer car sales with a white background and again, a decent cause or forum funds for a few months and play the old car ebay game.
Lankytim Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Where's BOLLOX when you need him? This must be right up his street. mk2_craig 1
