I hope it achieved better than 5.5 mpg most of the time, otherwise it has cost half a million pounds doing those miles.

A £1,500 classic Mini that isn't dragged out of a canal, damp field, and dissolved into several crusty bits. A project, obviously, but I *think* that might be relatively cheap in the current market?

Agree, thats pretty non mucked about with looking. Its obviously hiding some rust, they all do, and in the end they all need welding anyway, then again in another 10 years or so 🤣

That's an... interesting colour combination:

White definitely is an unusual choice. Shame about the paint mismatch, it'll be a 1of1 high spec car but is let down by it. Also the tiptronic isn't going to last all that much longer.

£799 for a Megane 1.6 on 50k with 12 months' ticket. Shows as ULEZ-compliant despite being a V-reg.

These are fantastic things, mint on fuel too. Nothing not to like.

Except the time a bolt flew off somewhere near Widnes and the RAC man laughed at me when I asked him to refit it.

No pics of the abominable side windows where they have converted a van though.

This must have been pretty much top of the range back in the day. It's a real shame it's so far gone. IIRC, those stripes along the bottom indicated it was one of the last Cortinas as I don't think they were on earlier Mk5s.

Yes, a real shame. Top of the range for sure and late one with electric mirrors. Love the green interior too, alloys clearly long gone. RIP.

It was the top of the range, a 2.3 Ghia with all the options including automatic transmission, headlamp washers, S pack and metallic paint. If it had econolights and an ERST32P digital radio cassette it would be the full house and very nice in Crystal green. If I didn’t’t have so many cars I would buy this 😍

The three stripes at the lower level were on Ghia only from 1981 models.
