1962 model imported in 66, but I know little about its history.

Bought it in about 1978 - heard that the local MOT station had it for sale, and by the time I remembered to go and see it the price had got down to £75 because nobody wanted it.   It had an MOT and was quite sound underneath with new sills, but the body was poor, so I did a running restoration, brush painted it with Woolworths Gloss, and ran it as a daily for several years.  It was very reliable, though I did a couple of engine rebuilds in the time I had it.  Sold it the mid 1980s for more than £75 due to a house move, and it was still on DVLA last time I looked, but I never saw it again.

Beautifully designed and built, quite roomy and comfortable, and a proper Italian car to drive, although a little underpowered.  No spare parts availability ,  so nearly everything had to be made from scratch, mended or adapted, and even the Lancia club was not very clued up about it, or interested, frankly.

Lovely thing.  I'd have another one, maybe a series 2 which has a bit more character.   Any questions, please ask....!

What a lovely looking little car! and class story to as well! Looks like it was last taxed in 1988.

Ah, the good old QX... so anonymous, this was literally the best strapline the advertisers at the time could muster:

No, seriously...

I'd still have one, though!

I'd bloody love an Appia (although ideally a MK1). Looks quite cool without a front bumper.

Another one of those cars where  manufacturers were looking at each others designs - this is the Morris Major which was meant to be the Minor's replacement - it did not happen except in Australia - we got the Wolseley/Riley versions.

And a resemblance to the Fiat 1100 too.

The Lancia is pillarless with 'clap-hands' doors tho.

Named after the Roman Via Appia - sounds more romantic than the Morris South Circular.

I may actually have sold it in 88.  The buyer was a youngster who was into 1950s style, and I would guess not too capable mechanically, so it's probably long gone.

My word that stereo system rocks! I have to admit I like Lagondas anyway but that is the cherry on the cake!

It's sex on cassettes, isn't it?

If I won the lottery I'd buy that and pilot it around Europe wearing really tacky gold-framed Aviators. I would also restart my smoking habit but switch to massive cigars.

I had one in 2005-7 (P679EAL).  The 2 ltr V6 automatic was the most refined unit I've ever experienced.  Unfortunately it was also the only car I've owned that needed recovery three times and could not be satisfactorily fixed by a Japanese car specialist or a Nissan main dealer (x2).  Suspension was not too clever on anything except good surfaces.  I'd consider one again but routine spares were difficult to source even when I owned one.

All these Rootes cars of that era were very nicely finished and quite well made. Looks good and nice olde skool ad " please ring me do not message". Probably had 50 messages already tho.

Should still keep up with modern traffic. They like to rust...but it is over 50 years old...

I've toyed with the idea of a 125 bike or a cheap EV to use, just in and around my town. I also like the Mitsubishi I...

Peugeot, ION, Hatchback, 2012, Other, 1 (cc), 5 doors

So it's French* badged cousin does tempt me as well.  I know the range new was "about 90 miles", so no idea how much it'll have lost over the last 12 years, even with just 22k miles.  Granted, Even with 50 miles range it's enough for me to nip to my local Tesco and back a few times, and slap it on charge there every few trips.  Of course, the idea is good, but unless I street parked it or the Civic the idea is pointless as I'd have to swap the cars about in the drive all the time. Shame.

Also £3250, maybe the 125 would be a better idea.

That would be a terrible shame if so, mind you 1988 was a couple of weeks ago now

AS law says any post with a CF has to tag Uncle @eddyramrod.  No one remembers why, it's just tradition. Like Xmas :)

Aaah no worries understood for next time 😂
