I think it is fantastic, the best colour too. Being fussy I would prefer a manual but this is pretty close to my perfect car. I ran ‘82 model Cortina’s as my everyday cars for almost 20 years. For me cars don’t get better than this, fantastic for long journeys too. The furthest I have driven in one day was just over 1,000 miles back from Spain in a Crusader, the only car that would have made the journey better is a  GL or Ghia. 
In summary I love it!

This was listed in a recent Mathewson’s auction. I am not sure why it didn’t sell?

I thought you’d like it! This is pretty much my ideal Cortina and I like the upgraded auto box. I think I’d go so far to say I’d happily swap both my cars for this! Sadly lack of space and cash preclude bidding for it 🙁

Bloody hell - bidding is up to £8,800.

I could have had one of these or a Capri for a few hundred quid in the 1990s.
