That Cav is being sold by the ghost of deceased/discraced former Autoshite poster boy "Pogweasel" who sadly lost the use of his brain in a bizarre gardening accident several years ago. If you buy it, you'll get to meet a living (dead) legend.

Top stalking skillz!  I wonder if he ever managed to shift that Escort estate he had?  Hopefully in the Autoshite tradition he offloaded it 20 minutes before prices rose by 600%

That is precisely what happened haha. I think he's probably still a bit pissed off about that, or would be if he was still alive

1982 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk2 1.3 2-door, very rare car, barn stored 25 yrs

z.jpg.c607d9248afb1c81280cbe83d106e972.jpg

TWO DOOR Mark 2 Cavalier, I didn't think there were any left!  Only available for a few months in 1.3 base flavour only.

Current bid: £343 - Reserve not met

Ebay link

When I was very into mk2 cavaliers, I had the opportunity to buy a project 2 door.

It was yellow, had very little interior, a badly fitted CalibrE body kit and a 2.0 SEH that didn't run.

I also turned down a rhd 2 door ascona C 1.8 GT, which was basically an Sri or a convertible before they cut the roof off. (previously owned by someone in the armed forces stationed in germany, who had ordered it with RHD)

You kick yourself.

I stopped being into mk2 cavaliers when I witnessed through the power of the internet, someone, take an almost perfect 2 door, and fit a 2.0 LET, 18 inch alloys a Calibra leather interior and a CalibrE body kit to it.  For some reason, I suggested it would have been better with 14 inch steel wheels, no body kit and a terracotta interior, to make a proper sleeper, and rightly g it chastised for my opinion.  I mean yes, it's your car, and you can do what you like.

Ooh, harsh. West Mids were master lockmakers, massive choice of engineers in Cov

As a student of Coventry Lanchester Polytechnic, in the 80s, I can attest to the fact that the engineers from Coventry, were exceptional in the level of mediocrity that they displayed.

My parents graduated from there in 1982. If you were around Lanchester Poly at that end of the decade you may have encountered by dad drinking one of the local pubs dry

going over the block next week at Mathewsons, this metro vanden plas  GS isvery very clean, save the o/f back door which is starting to go and a couple of carpark dings, 33000 miles which i would think is genuine, given that the floor is spotless.

guide price £1800 to £3000 even though the last thing i need is another bloody car!!

I've just looked at the price of that Metro van.  Fuck me, HFM?  I got a fraction of that for my perfect, unrestored, genuinely as-new Cyprus example!  Have things changed that much in eight years?

at last, the metro having been a but of many jokes and general appathy has it seems finally starting to become a proper classic car.

no doubt the silly values placed on early Festers and 205s is, like the Marina and Avengers getting dragged along cos RWD Escrots  been daft money, the Metro is starting to get expensive.

MGs, Vanden Plas cars and vans, cos vans usually were driven into the ground and very, very few are left now, have gone up in value in recent months.

but if it stops nice cars loosing their engines for mini's than that is ok for me. even now 1275s have been getting their engines raped out of them and the remaining numbers of Metros have been falling off a cliff!
