Funnily enough I had a dream last night that I had bought two fire-damaged SMs and was having them rebuilt into a replica Chapron Opéra saloon.

(I was somewhat richer in my dream than I am in real life.)

I'd like this more if it was a plain panel van, but with a 302 V8 and a 3 speed Gollum-change it is most wantable.

So much cheaper than a tired old VW hippy-bus. Probably no thirstier either.

My calibrated finger in the air says the shinier example for sale in Portugal at £3000 plus the crispy arches and the giffer dent in the offside rear corner suggests £1000-1500 would be a good place to start. Parts supply will be interesting. As the mafia don in The Italian Job says, "Pretty car!".
