The Allanté bodies were designed and manufactured in Italy by Pininfarina and were  flown 4,600 miles to Detroit for final assembly with US manufactured chassis and engines.  Planes departed  Turin with 56 bodies at a time. Crazy. 21,000 made.

Everything I love and despise about BL all in one handy* package.

I really do want a series 2 Maxi as I think they’re solid gold shite. Think about everything that was new and fresh in 81/82. The Sierra? BMW e30?? Mercedes w201??? Meanwhile - Austin were persevering with something that was designed in 1965. 

I know 12 years isn’t overly long - but by fuck did these look dated by the time the 80s arrived.  I literally love them.

Looks interesting - its got a drive-by-wire throttle body!!! Fairly sure that was never part of the normal production spec on these.

It says in the advert it was  likely a EURO4 emissions test car.  The expansion tanks doesn't exactly look factory either
