That is weird but if I had the money I'd put a Rover V8 in the Austin 3Litre to recreate the Wolseley version the Wolseley 8/160 prototype and how about the MG twin cam in the 1958 Riley 1500 to produce a true MG Magnette successor rather than the Farina. I always like the what-ifs that never made it.

Love the coach stuff. How do you know all this if you don't mind me asking?

Basically I'm a sad bastard!

In this case the livery and body / chassis just jumped at me and said Larrett Pepper. I live close to the area they used to be based in and went on the tour to their depot and on their vehicles when they announced they were jacking it in and selling to Tracky in the 80's. I'd heard a few years ago this was still in the land of the living.

Today I went to Yorkshire Tigers Wombwell depot to take some pictures as tomorrow is the last day they will run in the Dearne Valley as Stagecoach replace them on Monday.

As I said, I'm a sad bastard.

'Hey love, we really need a family car to carry our stuff round in. Something we can fit the canoes on and what not. See what you can find on eBay for us, I'll give you the money from my nan's will, so don't buy anything rubbish'

(Three hours later)

I mean, who wakes up in the morning and decides to nick some static caravan decking and weld the fucker to the back of an already hopeless van thing?

Ahem; the V8** Austin 3 litre is a Riley 8/220. When I win the lottery I WILL cause this to be built.

**The 4.5 V8 from Daimler's Conquest.

The Rover engined prototype existed at Longbridge and was in the management car pool apparently- was popular. I had a 3litre - bit gutless refused to rev. The V8  would have transformed it but the marque war in BL surely killed it.

The Super Snipe with the Mustang engine must also have been fun. Another British Dodo.

I think that has potential.

GEORGE CLARK could build a 3 bed marionette above a laudarette on the back.

That is great. So much better than a 126 bhp coupe with black wheels for half the price. s-l1600.jpgs-l1600.jpgs-l1600.jpg

Are you referring to mine???

... or getting twitchy about Brexit. A friend of mine is having problems transferring a Toyota pickup onto French plates because it was originally a Jap import to Britain.

T same in Spain, basically no EU homologation documents, then it is a no no. RHD vans or camper wagons forget it. Cars with mods very very difficult or not at all. We are not one Europe just yet, despite the idea of one time zone fits all.

In jest.....yes...but....

Better because ...... 5 seats and 5 doors and steel wheels and club seats for that authentic retired teacher look...
