Now , I’ve had more than my fair share of Montegos including a brand new high spec. Gti Estate and an L reg Countrymqn almost identical to this one, albeit Prima rattler.

BUT! I’ve never seen or heard of one with heated seats!

I’m tempted to buy this just for them. But I can’t imagine spending 5 large on aMontego.

I know there were pink Minor Millions but don't recall any XJ scheme. Looks OK though...

Nah, they were lilac 👍

I messaged this guy yesterday , I’m 7th on the list. He reckons somebody has already offered above the asking price . I wouldn’t be surprised if this ad disappears and another at a higher price turns up.

I thought that when I saw it, looks like grandad missed out on the news old ford's are big money

That's a rare thing, from the period of about three months (I'm not joking) when the base was upgraded to body colour grille but still didn't have the side rubbing strips that were added for the 1984 model year.

The wheel trims don't belong.  Otherwise looks standard, complete with radio blanking plate and no head restraints.

Possibly the earliest surviving base estate, I'm not aware of any grey grille estates.

I painted my Dad's grill on his base Y reg 1.6 estate beige, to almost match the beige car.  I found him some beige carpet to fit the boot, and he fitted the cheapest mono radio he could find, with two speakers in the boot lid and a single headphone jack on a cable coming out into the rear seat.

Weirdly, despite being very base, and very beige the factory had fitted a GL badge on the boot.

Almost identical to the 1.4 saloon I wrote off in 2002. (The first of 3 Astra mk3s I've written off)
