Wow.

Also...

The car comes with a file full of history and old invoices including the original Renault invoices from the 1980's and one for the sale of the vehicle as a used car with a genuine Renault invoice for £4,850 including a 12 months warranty. As that invoice was May 1984, that warranty has now expired

I'm out.

Someone on here needs to get one of these to start a new 'goona rush' (like the goona 2 era of AS). A modern beauty, a car version of this kind of young lady.

Interesting, I've just put this on the Price is SHITE! thread.

Was that a practice run for Top Gear before they attempted the Espace convertible?

The car was purchased by Mr P Smith back in 1984. He drove to the dealer with his wife, Barbara, on the 3rd of April with his chequebook...

boggo Primera with subtle crash damage from Bradford.

Bradford isn't in my NBZ (no buy zone) yet, nor is Keighley. Wales and Merseyside can get fucked though

Not boggo! Activ was a reasonably well equipped 'special' edition from the days of 'OMG how are we going to shift all these plain Jane D-segment cars'. It had climate control and some other stuff that I can't remember.

I had a 1.8 Activ and it was Very Good.

However I imagine the front subframe is pretty ripe on this one.

With regards to NBZ, mine are:

Manchester

Liverpool

Most of Greater London

Weirdly I'd happily buy a car from Devon and Cornwall even though they're all hanging and have no paint left on the nearside thanks to hedge scraping.

Is plate raping still that appealing though? Before the rolling 40 year rule yes it was worth it with a magical amount of 1972 reg cars mysteriously on the road but now there is the rolling rule is it really worth modifying a 1988 mini with old VIN plates when it'll be exempt soon anyway?

If you live in ultra zone then yes it is id say. could be the difference between keeping your cherished car or not.

Birmingham is my main NBZ. Every time I've arranged to look at a car in Brum, it's been a bomb-site driveway dealer in an area where a stab vest is required. Despite being advertised as private. Both times I turned around and left without knocking the door.

Presumably the value is in the docs; is this something that can be legitimately “restored” and not fall foul of the dvla ?

Might be something important. Like the vin plate.

All you need is one of these (RRP £14,600)

Classic British Mini Bodyshells - British Motor Heritage (bmh-ltd.com)

A quick paint job and a couple of weekends bolting it back together and you've a car worth about £15,000.

Are these as much of a nightmare as I imagine they are? Sieve-like roof and borkomatic TSi engine?

I'm surprised I haven't read an AS thread with someone attempting the Sysiphian task of trying to stop one leaking AND getting it running right.

This one's in Cov and is £3800 Brexit tokens.

OK, so my 1.6 Mondeo has 90* bhp and weighs 1235kg = 73 bhp per tonne

that reputedly has 108 bhp and weighs 1335kg = 80 bhp per tonne

Progress of a sort...
