4 Grand 300SL with minor issues such as the roof doesn't work, the doors don't lock and roof doesn't go down.

Looks nice though.

Isn't that a prime candidate for the biodegradable wiring loom, given the year? Would explain the faults... and herald many more!

A mate had a nice one of these years ago. Looked just like that but it was K reg. It was a lovely thing. I'd like one myself but maybe not that one. I've got enough to contend with!

If it was s facelift or V8 probably would. Someone actually managed to get mine running and mot'd after I sold it, they aren't really that complicated. The wiring harness is only a problem on top of the engine and relatively cheap/easy to replace on the 6 cylinder cars.

Is this not one of these cars that if you have the extra 2-3 grand then spend it on a better one rather than trying to fix one with issues (unless you really know what you're doing) as you could easily spend that an more sorting it out?

Are they also not in a bit of  a no mans land of having quite complex electronics but limited diagnostics?

A guy at work had one that was maybe 7-8 years old at the time and low miles it had all sorts of weird issues no-one wanted to deal with.

Icarsoft has a Mercedes reader that actually works well on non obd2 cars, so no problems there anymore. And they really are quite simple as long as you don't have strange electrical gremlins that must have been caused by something that isn't normal use of the car (jumping the car with terminals in the wrong spot, driving it into a lake etc).

The problem is that a 6k Mercedes R129 will probably have similar issues to a 4k one, especially if the body of the cheaper car is in good shape already.

£1195…!?! What planet are they on? Actually they're in Tunbridge Wells so they probably think we are all millionaires but even if I was I wouldn't pay even half that. It doesn't have a straight panel on it.

Felicias don't follow general trends. Everything else might have gone up but these havent. If it was mint you might just get that but they really are not desirable cars. It's why I like them.

Are we talking just thinking sinful thoughts, or stealing the communion wafers, peeing in the font, beating up nuns etc?

Fiat 126 with various Renno bits. Looks like an easy* fix.... Currently £57 no reserve, Forest Row (wherever that is). Various pictures, but none showing the whole car.
