Did they make an estate Crusader? Late registration madness

No MOT and history shows it has an issue with the screen wash, for some reason.

Typically the  engine and gearbox have been changed. The lines denoting that this is a Crusader have gone too.

Has someone sold this car for scrap?As  the seller is We Want Your Motorcar LTD.

My dad's Cortina 1.6L estate was a Y reg. But it was a bulk buy company car. Also estate may live longer than saloon as I imagine Sierra hatch preceded the estate by 6-12 months

Yes they did!

Owner of a local Spar corner shop (remember them?) had a Y- reg late 82 2.0 Crusader estate bought new in dark brown with beige lower panels.

The Crusader was a sort of cross between a 1600L and the rest of the range with some Ghia trim bits on it. (Just buy a Ghia).

No 2-doors though.

Wasn't the estate a carosel or chasseur ? The brown on beige Granada was a chasseur maybe the Cortina was too.

its pleasantly surprising how many of them have been coming out of the woodwork of late

tho sadly most seem to be in quite the state

if I had the means I could see myself ending up with one!

Massive WANT

Partly because I've never seen a 25 in that colour, partly because of the BRM interior, partly because I want to see what the 1.1 K-Series in the 25 is like and whether they're as bad of an idea as they sound!

Edit - I need to read adverts properly! It's had an engine upgrade. Original 1.1 included though. 

I'm sure* it didn't have OMGHGF and that was the real reason it was swapped 🙃

Nope,  brown over gold was a crusader colour scheme and definitely available on a Y plate. See @DodgyBastardfor his latest purchase, Crusader estate on a Y.

If I had the pennies? Sure. Wouldn't go more than a grand, as it would take at least that to recommission her at a basic but mechanically sound level. All the original glass and intact and it looks like one of the early ones. I did laugh at the description "might make a good go kart" 🤣 "worth a bit more than that mate" I thought!

Be an idea to get the reg plate for the E8000 database!

Yes but not in yellow or dove grey as summised earlier.
