'Interior has potential'

It's like when an estate agent describes a burnt-out shell as a 'blank canvas'

Cheap early Touareg in Aberdoom.  Plenty of test but leaking water - it's the old 5-pot TDI though so shouldn't  be a difficult fix.

I think it is the R5 also fittedin T5s that's half a V10. Not a bad motor but has a few issues and definitely not as simple as the old 5 pot.

I have one in my van, it's been good touch wood.

Registered office is a pub? Only up the M1, so might drive up there and have a look....

eBay sez "this item is no longer available". Probably the Chinese complained....

Change your name to Maurice Garagiste Rover by deedpoll; the shysters won't be able to get you then!*

This interior looks incredible. It's like a car-sized chocolate lime!

A friend used to drive those for the Highways Agency... Nissan Faultfinders they called them.

Not cheap, but I can't imagine many GTi's exist anymore.

Well that is in stellar condition, but I tried to sell my later 220GSi twin cam, similar mileage, slightly worse condition, for the 3k mark and didn't meet the reserve. Glad I didn't as having a second car is invaluable at the moment

The price is a tad optimistic - how many grumpy BL customers stood around filling this thing up whilst waiting for yet another warranty repair to be carried out.

Two and a half grand for this ZR160 but I bet it’s speedy

It's an Express 160, the car derived van version of the ZR. As the ad says they made very few of them. TBH I think it's more than a fair price considering the regular Express 101 diesels change hands for similar money (presuming the ad is honest of course) and the work that's been done to it.

Edit: Just seen it's on bids, d'oh.

Nah. They were rusting in the showrooms. Something with more metal, please.

Slartibartfast had one of those.  Engine designed by Yamaha if memory serves.

It is indeed, possibly reason alone to own one. Yamaha builds fantastic engines.

I think (could be wrong) that the engine was designed by Volvo but built by Yamaha. Allegedly when looking at the drawings, Yamaha spotted various faults that would become common and alerted Volvo, but Volvo just replied, "just build it! That's your job." And then they had problems with balance shaft failures. Allegedly. Not more than a rumour, as far as I'm aware

If petrol ever goes down to 40p a litre I’m so getting one of these fast S80 Volvos.  Fuck that T5 nonsense, this is the 4WD V8, 4.4 litre 👍

Ooh, I very nearly replaced the E60 with one of those. Reading above though, perhaps just as well I didn't.

If Crackers' recent antics have given you the horn for a brown V8 Rover but you can't quite stretch to current P6 prices, fear not - this gem is back on.
