A lot of stuff in the background not listed on the site,  including that U23

In the search for a used car for my fella, I've been perusing the Craigslist of the USA.

He wasn't impressed by this...

Obviously a 'Inheritance Find' in a reasonably fancy neighbourhood.

He bought a 2019 Passat instead.. We're still not talking.

This looks like a mega barg.

I'm not sure how to share the link but there can't be many mx-5 turbos for sale in Gateshead.

It's got to be worth it for the engine and ancillaries alone.

That is silly cheap. I pulled £2300 on mine around three years ago iirc. Having said that, my shell was an JDM S model and was minty mint. Sold to a jumped-up twat who wanted it purely for track drifting. Should have kept it really; values will only go one way.

The sills need welding. But it looks mint.

The running gear and conversion kit must be worth that.

A 2 litre V6 ford engine. I did not know that.

And registered as 1593c c on the DVLA website.

Either the seller is an idiot and doesn't know what he's got, or there's something wrong with the whole listing.

Seems it's a bit of a chimera, since the 2.0 V6 wasn't available in the UK, according to the wiki.

Indeed, I don't understand the logic of putting it in; a 1.6 Pinto swapped for a 2.0 Pinto would have been much easier, and probably cheaper; and the Pinto can be tuned to produce extra geegees in an afternoon with a flat screwdriver, some sandpaper and a hammer. I NOES THIS

Maybe just from a european Sierra 2.0 V6. At least one of those would have all the right mounts etc.

Italian maybe

I bet that 2.0 v6 drinks like a v8 but probably makes less powers than a pinto.

I went to Cologne as a passenger in a new 17M with the 1.8 v6. Impressed this (kid) as a very  quiet car.  Much later, the 4.0 v6 in a rented Windstar utterly failed to impress.  Wheazy, rough and gutless.

If it had been an original BBR Turbo that would be the steal of the century.

Nah, that would be a 1663cc V4.  The 2.0 only came in later, but was still a V4.  Smol V6 is definitely a German engine, if it's Ford at all.
