Everything seems to work well bar the front windows. It's a comfortable, roomy thing all told. Not fast, and it's very ugly.

It's for sale now as I've bought a race car.

@davehedgehog31 has dibs, but if he decides against it, The Blue Meaney will be available for sale.

Dash at night.

I've not had it long, but I HAVE driven it all the way to Iceland.

The fucked laquer is too "textured" to take a wrap. It wants a good power sand and clean off to take a wrap I'd say. Or paint it. Or change it. Or ignore it.

ignore sounds like a good plan there then, something for the new owner to have fun with

I bet you can get vinyl in a close matching colour to wrap that bonnet, given it’s not some crazy metallic colour

or ignore

You should put laminate flooring on instead of a bonnet.

Blackboard paint - then every day you can draw a new design on it.

Rally stripes and numbers...

A flower...

A moo cow...

That Pink Floyd album cover with the triangle and rainbow coming out of it...

The list just goes on.

Your attempts at that bonnet remind me of one of those shopping channel chaps. You know the ones who throw all crap at something, like a pan. Then produce some miracle spray stuff and clean it all off in a flash. Well apart from the magic cleaning off bit I mean.

only way to fix lacquer peel lift is to sand it back, filler prime over the top with a 2 pack, flat it back and then re top coat.

Or just live with it

See, you knew that and I learned that. So you were a better man to begin with and I learned something through experimentation.

So really, we are all winners. But mostly you.

'Cause I have no space left to provide a home for the Blue Meanie.

Well like Kevin Keegan used to say to Peter Beardsley,

"If you can't see space, you have to make your own "

He probably carried on to say:

"Carry the ball out wide to the left flank, drag a midfielder out with you, get the full back to commit, then play a lofted cross onto the centre. Runners from midfield will be there in the space you've created"

Though this second quote is probably less relevant to this situation.

Be honest, you've Stu_CDX'd it really.

That for sure is the way Proper Like, but there are a few ways around it at this end of the market and Mr Bell was on the right lines with sandpaper and t-Cut to try and tidy it up a bit.

both sandpaper and t-cut remove material, trouble is, you don't know what sort of a base you are going to almost end up with.

Try wet'n'dry with soap and water.  1000 grit, maybe up to 600 grit.  Any bare primer areas can be given a lick of Aerosol paint, colour matched.  Then use your T-Cut to get as much of a shine on the old paint as you can.  Then an Aerosal can of lacquer.  It will not win you 'Bodyshop Of Britain'  award but if you like 'messing' then, that is something to mess with.

you'll have to pick a fine day though to, no good if its pissin it down like it seems to do every day these days.

or as the chaps say, flat it back and whizz it over with Satin Black or when you have flatted it back, wrap it.

It does escalate pissing about to another level though.

Will however wins it a woffell appreciate it ?

To the nice Scottish man in the middle of the night.

Never buy a car in the dark!

Always plan your collection. Never just decide you're going, then leave the house to go to another country.

Never meet a strange man in a eerie car park, always meet in a well lit area!

He broke all the rules, the crazy bastard.
