I read on here, reverse rapidly in a car-park & stand hard on the brakes.

 

Is this true, I can imagine that it might be, but does it really work?

Don't know about that Barefoot but it is a common trick with old Fiats with rear drums to ease them off.

I'd imagine that it would.

What you need is to get some real force to the brakes without them locking up, so that the turning disk is forcibly scrubbed clean by the pads.

Reversing and braking will shift weight to the back so the tyres grip and the wheels turn as you stamp on the middle pedal. Also there's probably a proportioning valve or summert (controlling front/back brake balance), that will help this exercise.

It's HEAVY for the size of it, and has NO connections at all - electrical/fuel/air/oil - nothing. I found it lurking under the centre console of the 850. WTF WTF WTF?

I remember reading years ago about a vehicle that had the stez down next to the handbrake. Normal DIN stereo but aiming upwards vertically, and aligned in line with the handbrake, so it would be upside down if the passenger wanted to look at it. What car was it? I won't miss him tbh, he often spoke so much without saying anything, and was particularly unfunny.

But he didn't really bother me.

Didn't know him in real life but I reckon you're spot on with that assessment. He'd pm'd me a few times and always came across as a decent, friendly bloke.

He never seemed that bad on Retro Rides to be fair, It was only on here that he came across as a massive helmet cheese, If he didn't steer every thread into a train wreck of arguments and bitchiness or just plane drivel then he would have lasted longer.

 

I had nothing against the bloke btw and when he pm'ed me he always came across as quite normal, It was just the way the forum was heading with him on here.

I think on RR there is a mod (prolly Rmad) whose sole job is to go round tidying up the mess made by TB, Am*zo and others so no-one gets to see it. On autoshite we rely on people knowing when to shut up.....
