Autoshite's official for sale/wanted thread

Recommended Posts

I am sneaking this out on the main forum, hoping it gets a bit of exposure before it gets shifted to the massive for sale/wanted thread that is confusingly disjointed and probably not read by half the users......

anyway...

I have upraded to a Makita to benefit from my extra batteries, so this is no longer required.

I bought it second hand years ago. Its the CTU4850 High output with 18v nicad batteries.

It comes with the main unit obviously, two batteries, charger and the pretty box.

To be noted - its well used - check the photo - its grubby, dirty and scratched. The rubber overmoulding on the hand grip is beginning to lift.

The charger is NOT a mains charger - it is a 12v charger for use in a car ciggy lighter. I have wanged crocodile clips on it for connection to battery terminals which can easily be removed. Note that connecting it to a stand alone car battery doesnt always work, it likes to see over 13v, so either you charge in the car with the engine running or you use a battery charger / bench power supply. Yes, i know this is a pain in the arse, but some fuckwits killed the original mains charger when i loaned it to them.

The batteries are not in their first flush of youth - they still hold charge well enough, and give a reasonable working time, but they are getting on a bit. Some guy sells reconditioned ones on the ebay if you wanted to upgrade.

Like I say, its not brand new, but this was the fuckin DADDY when these were relatively new tech....it was the most powerful on the market by a long way. Yes things have advanced since then, but its still a serious piece of equipment - this isnt some Argos pish that struggles with wheelnuts - its a tool that was and still is widely used by professional mechanics.

There are a couple of wee videos in action on my thread about them here...

It will cost me slightly under 40 eurosheckles to post to UK, so I think 170 pounds all in is not unreasonable. At time of writing, there is one on ebay in the same sort of condition bid up to 150 plus postage with several hours left.

Swap for P38 Range Rover etc etc....

Could you provide an invoice for this ? Could put it through the business then

Bump for this so I can finance buying Bramz 205 and before it goes on eBay or gumtree.

Selling my spare engine.

With the Scirocco running the AFN from the doomed Sharan is spare.

This is a 50,000 mile 1.9tdi AFN block with all ancillaries and ECU module. It came out of the 110k Sharan as seen in my main thread. Ran before removal and drove on/ off the recovery truck. It was a replacement at 60,000 miles after a cambelt change went wrong at a VW main dealer, and as such was main dealer supplied direct from VW in about 2006 (I have all the documentation of the resulting legal dispute). AFN means it is is one of the last pre-PD, so 110 bhp. VAG tuners like them as they're very strong and tractable. They're often also used in VW T4 conversions or for mk1/2 golfs.

I'm looking for £400 (£350 with shiters discount), which covers most of my costs.

If you prefer to make your own exhaust systems (and who doesn't?) This is a handy thing.

Don't suppose anyone fancies this Rover 218 SD with 8 months of ticket for £200 do they? It's in Bristol, I had agreed to buy but have to withdraw due to a better set of wheels coming up.

It drives fine but I'd genuinely just treat it as disposable...

Pm me if you want to know more. I just feel bad for letting the seller down.

You sold the GSi so you really needs this added to your fleet as your signature still says you have a Rover  8)

Best offer

Rover 418 Turbo Diesel

XUD7, TD, Lucas CAV pump

Engine great, drives great.  Was a dependable 3k covered WBOD last year (on classic insurance)

Runs, drives, MOT out as the sills are shot both sides.  Arches grim.  Wings grim.  BUT All complete otherwise

Kept it back for spares for my 420, but wife wants it out of the way.  Drives onto trailer.  Or trade-plate it, it will get you home and beyond.

Steel wheels now fitted.  Toyed with the idea of fitting engine and gearbox to a Maxi, but pipe dreams like that never materialise.

Anyone interested in a Saab 9-3?  Its a 1999 T reg 3 door in doom blue with alloys.

It belongs to a customer and has sat in our yard for months.  Tom was supposed to be shifting it up to a mechanic/Saab specialist to sell for him but the mechanic can't recieve it when Tom is in the area.  It needs a front windscreen and will probably need tyres and a battery as it's been here since the Autumn.

This is the ad I put up the first time he dumped it here

http://autoshite.com/topic/12104-autoshites-official-wantedoffered-thread/?p=1239906

Since then it's been fixed and then dumped again as he can't insure it then it got vandalised (screen) we waterproofed it straight away.  He hasn't asked me to advertise it but I'm hoping an offer might get it out of the yard.  We got a quote of £120 to put a screen in.

Just looked and it's still taxed and is tested till 13/9/18!

Alternative plan,  how hard would it be to put it's engine in my Astra?

I have a contact who would like it.

He has a rich provenance with old motors, he seems like the ideal next owner

Here he is helping out with a friends old carpost-19511-0-14629100-1520378403_thumb.jpg

The insurance won't replace the tyres and the battery, though, nor will they get it running again even though it RAN WHEN PARKED months ago.

Not at the moment but I'll get one next time I'm there. Not really drivable though. I came back from Xmas convinced it was a 98 so was going to buy it but PJ are strict on 20 years.

Just on the offchance that someone here is actually getting rid of a usable vehicle (slim chance, I know!), I am currently looking for a cheap, reliable estate or van, preferably as near to the civilised end of the country (Cornwall obviously) as possible. Cheers.

When I find one I will have a rough C15 to get rid of - MOT to september, will be very cheap to a shiter......

If you click on the "FOR SALE" link at the top of the forum, it'll show you all the vehicles that are currently for sale.

Yes, thanks, that is (just about) within my abilities!

I was simply wondering if there were any imminent but, as yet, unannounced suitable vehicles loitering. Who knows somebody may have one that they would like to sell me and then meet somewhere with a suitably miserable backdrop to claim their *prize* of a free C15.

It's on a 52 plate. It has had numerous bouts of welding throughout its life, some by me (pretty good) and lots before I owned it (not so well done!).

It would need quite a bit more in order to pass another mot, around the rear arches/bumper mounts. This became particularly apparent a couple of weeks ago when the dog crashed it - yes really!

Mechanically it has never let me down.

WANTED.

I clipped a kerb on my way out of work on Wednesday evening, and now my nearside front tyre is toast - bulge in sidewall. Gutted, because it was a bloody good Michelin Alpin.

So, has anyone got one or a pair of good 195/60/15's for sale please. If one, I'd prefer a winter tyre because the offside is a Alpin winter tyre.

Thanks in advance.

Would anyone have a set of Citroen xantia wheels with decent tyres? Tomorrow I'm going from coventry to reading and onto guildford so could potentially collect from that area if someone has a set for cheapies please.
