DodgyBastard Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Has the owner collected this yet? Can't wait to hear his reaction. I'm waiting on him getting back to me regarding collection, I called him on Friday to tell him the good news about passing its mot, if I get the opportunity I will drop it off to him. richardmorris, Jifflemon, danthecapriman and 16 others 19

jumpingjehovahs Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 It’s been said many times, but it’s a mighty fine thing you’ve done with this. Top man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk PhilA, DSdriver, Mrs6C and 8 others 11

D Spares & Tyres Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 what a strange but heartwarming thread. Will this now be an autoshite 'thing'? Crowdfunding the repair of a stranger's car? Anyway, have to go now as I think I have something in my eye. Skizzer, Mrs6C, oldcars and 5 others 8
timolloyd Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Yeah, everything above. This is fantastic. Well done Foad. When I’m next in town I’ll keep an eye out for this little slice of AS Mrs6C and Jim Bell 2

loserone Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I don't care about a donation to charity or the forum. Generosity should not require obligation. We've no idea if the owner is in a financial position to do anything, and acts of kindness have a wider impact than just the recipient. Be excellent to each other. Rod/b Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Yep, if the owner wants to buy Scott a deep fried mars bar or whatever then great, otherwise the account is clear. Mrs6C and mk2_craig 2
cort16 Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 They probably thought “thank fuck” when it failed its mot. Finally we can get that new Kia Picanto we’ve wanted for years , then it gets fixed re mot’d and dropped back at their house. FFS not this thing again Great work, it’s nice to see someone doing a nice thing because they can . Rocket88, alf892, HillmanImp and 13 others 16

lanciamatt Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Excellent work chaps, I will echo above comments, it's not about money it's about saving a rare car, and even better the guy gets it back, he probably had sleepless nights thinking it was going to scrap or what ever. Good work all round
Arthur Foxhake Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I watched all of this happen as an outsider, didn't get involved at all, I'm thoroughly impressed with what happened here.Absolute respect to FOAD for giving up your spare time to make someone else happy. I've never seen such a random act of kindness. oldcars, Datsuncog, GrumpiusMaximus and 2 others 5

Finally we can get that new Kia Picanto we’ve wanted for years , then it gets fixed re mot’d and dropped back at their house. FFS not this thing again Ha! I went to see a friend once in my old 2cv. When I got there I saw her neighbor peeking through the bush and generally sneaking about. I met her a while later she said "I used to have one of these, I thought oh god! They (the people who bought it) are bringing it back!" Fair play Foad. LightBulbFun, chodweaver, inconsistant and 1 other 4
dollywobbler Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Fair play Foad. This reads much better if you read out FOAD in full. A friendly insult. jumpingjehovahs, LightBulbFun and HillmanImp 3
sierraman Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 At least it’s been saved and hopefully the welding will see several years out. LightBulbFun 1
