If you're up for an internet spat I can highly recommend the Politics Section in the Open Forum.  All of Autoshite's resident 'experts' hang out there.

Being made aware of the illegalities of what you are doing IS NOT bullying. Numerous people are trying to make you aware but you are still ignoring the facts citing various completely ludicrous "defences"

You were the one that posted inflammatory content in LBF's thread, nobody decided to randomly start pouncing on brummiejon for using an electric scooter, your decision to make a post along the lines of "lock me up and throw away the key" about using the vehicle illegally is what got you to this point. Take accountability for your own actions.

FFS. Stop admitting to breaking the law and people will stop bringing it up.

When I used to go to Glastonbury festival in the 80s, if it rained, the only vehicles that could get off the site were Landrovers and 2CVs. You’re also forgetting that with one tool, you could wind up an entire old-car forum.

@brummiejon sorry for this FTFY, but I just had to go for the joke...

I don’t, which is why I get around at walking pace in a modified (brakes upgraded with modern brake shoes and  added brake lights) vintage mobility scooter. Even a road legal e-bike is faster than this  “death trap” as the flamers like to call it.

Every attempt to register it with the DVLA has been refused (even with a certificate of registration from the issuing country council).

They refused the original plate, an age related plate, a Q plate and everything else in between… even a supporting letter from the DVLAs registered owners club expert  was rejected.

But hey…  I deleted my posts not because I was admitting to doing something I shouldn’t… I did it because I was concerned that the Flamers were spoiling LBFs thread…. I was mistaken, they did anyway and you’re still doing it… PM me if you’re pissed off.

The carnival photos where I “could have killed a child” doesn’t show how I was flanked by four people, there were crowd control Marshall’s  everywhere and the procession covered 1.5 miles in 2 hours (yeah, child killing speed). BTW, I am not wearing a brass helmet, it’s made of paper.

Thanks for the hate….. I’d rather be me than you and your pack of dogs lurking to bite without having anything constructive to say or any helpful suggestions other than “you’re an ignorant cunt”.

I told you I don’t care, and I don’t…. Report me… it’s all adding to the story that I’m writing with a journalist about the whole sorry state of the DVLA and now the pack of dogs on this forum will feature in it too. I’ll post a link to it when it’s published.

It’s not bullying. None of what you’ve quoted is bullying. None of what is above is bullying. None of it.

This is.

You’re a monumental helmet stroker of Champions League standards. You’re the mouth breathing, saliva dribbling cauliflower that keeps diverting this thread when it organically corrects itself. You’re thick enough to think people give two flying shits what you think about the DVLA, the legalities of insurance or whether you can drive your insufferable fucking turnip on the king’s highway. You’re too stupid to realise that literally fucking everyone is laughing in your face.

Now. That enough? Or should I sprinkle in the odd c-bomb too?

Feel free to use the report function or, be a grown up, understand that your behaviour has been called out fairly - look at your feet with contrition and be quiet like a good little girl.

Love to know where you found a journalist. Almost every one that say they are a journalist are no more than reporters. Which is no more than bring a member on a forum who can quote sentences they found on the internet somewhere.

I look forward to reading the article. Should be fun.

I’m not sure I’m following, I completely am behind a story being written about the state of the DVLA (in some respects) and commend you for putting the effort in to do that.

I’m a bit bemused as to how you’re going to encorporate the part where you quite literally wrote “I know it’s illegal but I don’t care, lock me up and throw away the key” and then spin it to some sort of cyber bullying when people call you out that it’s not a good idea to boast about illegal activities on a public forum? But hey, it’ll certainly be an interesting read!

Just so we are absolutely clear, I expect the post to be reinstated pretty sharpish.

The team of moderators has no mandate, have been appointed through a series of coronations via other ‘kingpins’ with no mandate, and have no authority to decide what can be said and what can be heard.

Genuinely. If the feelings of a pillock who uses a vehicle illegally and without insurance trump the thoughts of someone who’s contributed to this community for eight years, we’ll call it a day now.

Right.  Let's get down to brass tacks here.

None of those rules were broken.  That's not even with my biased, loose approach to rules in general.  None of them.

Interestingly, the 'Welcome to Autoshite' thread suggests 'not being a dick'.  Someone who drives an unregistered, uninsured vehicle on the King's highway is - by default - a dick.

Finally,

If a post needs hiding or editing a moderator will comment on the post being edited with the reason why.

No reason has been put for my post being hidden.  Only that the self appointed moderator who seems to enjoy chastising me has hidden it for review.

This isn't difficult stuff, you know?  In fact - it seems to be quite difficult to continually fuck something up so consistently.

This is ridiculous.

By hiding Bornite's post, the moderation team is condoning what the OP did.
And don't give me the bollocks about 'some of the posts were spicy';  at best, they comprised a mild telling off.

Shall I spell it out again? The OP admitted to driving an uninsured and unlicenced invalid carriage on the public road owing to a spat with the DVLA (something which, had he not starting arguing with posters on here, would have garnered sympathy), then doubled down by saying he would ride a unrestricted e-bike instead.
LBF's thread, which he claims to respect, was derailed for several pages because he refused to concede these points, instead claiming that the truth of the matter amounted to bullying.

How would this hold up in court? Is that what's got you twitching? Or is it the stated threat of bad publicity?

You have overstepped the mark (a mark which, let's be honest, the moderation team created itself, for itself) and caused an even bigger mess. Well done.

I would respectfully suggest that if the moderators wished to keep things on track, the best course of action would be to remove the person who (seemingly through multiple accounts) keeps crayoning over and derailing this thread, having been called out over their illegal activities.

I'm sure you have the best intentions but your moderation massively misses the mark and just serves to cause more trouble than it solves. Nobody would think any less of you if you decided being admin on here was a little more than you could handle and passed the baton on.

What was your post count before being made staff anyway?

Not saying the post should or shouldn’t have been deleted after the event, (I’ve given my views to the review), but I guess the question I ask myself is why was the post written in the first place?

Whilst I understand the desire to put BrummieJohn straight. I wonder if face to face, say in the street or in their workplace someone had publicly called a disabled person they didn’t really know a “saliva dribbling cauliflower” they would be proud of that fact? Would they want it recorded for posterity? Would their mates be slapping their back and finding it hilarious, or in real life would people be a bit more questioning? If it was a disabled relative or friend of yours would you be happy with that phrase (amongst others) directed at them?

It’s really clear and obvious that BrummieJohn’s actions as stated are stupid in the extreme, and the constant and ridiculous barrage of “bullying” comments are derailing and pointless.  There’s no defending of him from me whatsoever. However, in my experience insulting people like that just makes them double down and achieves nothing other than maybe a few cheap laughs.

Absolutely agree.

I too have given my personal views regarding the moderation in the relevant admin group, however a couple of the particular phrases used strike me as being included purely for inflammatory reasons and have no relevance to Brummiejon’s apparent lack of capability to avoid making extremely stupid decisions regarding his motoring activities and then going on to brag about them on a public forum.

Right.

I see.

The comment was moderated on my behalf because I'm not in full possession of my faculties, and the self imposed referee was actually trying to save me from myself.  They realised, before I did so myself, that I either didn't mean what I said or that I wouldn't want it on public record.

It's a nice reply, chap.  Although it doesn't actually address the direct question.  A little bit like when a politician is asked a question and they reply "well, I think a more important question is what are we doing to help people with their energy bills".

What, of the rules listed in the 'how we do things' thread, did I break? Calling someone a cauliflower isn't a hate crime.

I'll address your question directly.  Why was the post written in the first place?  Because he, more than anyone, was derailing the thread.  It was made in defence of a long term member who actually contributes to the community, rather than rocking up and picking fights with people.

I'll save you the hassle of replying to my question - I'd rather you were out enjoying your spare time.  You're welcome to make the decision you all think best fits the brand guidelines of Autoshite 2.0.

I would guess a good 90% of the 'all knowing' have never even driven or ridden an invalid carriage..... Let alone saved one!

I feel the time is approaching where he invalid carriage fans need a separate friendly, non judgemental helpful forum, away from Model 70s and their ilk who think they are better than everyone else!

You seem to have a bit of resentment here towards the Model 70 people going by this comment and your goading of LBF for not backing you up.

Is the Invacare Carriage community heading for a People's Judean Front style split?
