There is so much ableism and incredulity over anyone interested in "death traps" in this forum, I'm nor surprised you lost your rag. Everybody is free to be enthusiastic about anything they want... I don’t, which is why I get around at walking pace in a modified (brakes upgraded with modern brake shoes and added brake lights) vintage mobility scooter. Even a road legal e-bike is faster than this “death trap” as the flamers like to call it. Every attempt to register it with the DVLA has been refused (even with a certificate of registration from the issuing country council). They refused the original plate, an age related plate, a Q plate and everything else in between… even a supporting letter from the DVLAs registered owners club expert was rejected. But hey… I deleted my posts not because I was admitting to doing something I shouldn’t… I did it because I was concerned that the Flamers were spoiling LBFs thread…. I was mistaken, they did anyway and you’re still doing it… PM me if you’re pissed off. The carnival photos where I “could have killed a child” doesn’t show how I was flanked by four people, there were crowd control Marshall’s everywhere and the procession covered 1.5 miles in 2 hours (yeah, child killing speed). BTW, I am not wearing a brass helmet, it’s made of paper. Thanks for the hate….. I’d rather be me than you and your pack of dogs lurking to bite without having anything constructive to say or any helpful suggestions other than “you’re an ignorant cunt”. I told you I don’t care, and I don’t…. Report me… it’s all adding to the story that I’m writing with a journalist about the whole sorry state of the DVLA and now the pack of dogs on this forum will feature in it too. I’ve noticed a distinct change in people’s attitude from my able bodied self and my disabled self… I never used to get huffing and puffing around me in the supermarket or people barging past me on the pavements… I was treated well at work until I was forced to retire and I’m treated well by railway staff, but the general public…. Only a few.

Sadly, there are plenty of people still out there that believe that we are in-valid, and our unproductivity is a nothin more than a drain on their taxes

When I used to go to Glastonbury festival in the 80s, if it rained, the only vehicles that could get off the site were Landrovers and 2CVs. You’re also forgetting that with one tool, you could wind up the 2CV suspension if needed

I’ve decided to take everybody’s views and go back to riding my electric bicycle that will do 30miles per hour, has woefully inadequate brakes and frighteningly quick acceleration but doesn’t need tax, mot or insurance and is just as much capable of “killing a child” but it’s legal and will keep you all happy…

Yes, not noticeable at all, no change in power either on a slight incline. Im sure it was better before… there is a noticeable difference in power between 1 and 2 in reverse and it looks like it uses exactly the same circuit as 1 and 2 forward just with the polarity reversed..

Speeds 1 3 and 4 work as they should as do both reverse speeds… I understand that the 2 reverse speeds are the same as speeds 1 and 2 just with reverse polarity…. This makes me think that they’re nowt wrong with the motor…. I’ve checked over the speed controller, cleaned the copper contact with wet and dry paper and examined the contacts and wiring… All looks ok. the controller itself is rather complicated and M not sure what I should be testing….

I’m having a bit of trouble with Flo…. And no one really to turn to….. There is no power difference between 1 and 2 then a big jump to 3. I’ve had a good look at the wiring and the speed controller, no obvious issues… I’m a bit stumped and have no one to turn to… anyone here have any contacts for vintage electrical engineers?

More Argson antics…. Flo has oil on her shoes… oil from the differential is leaking through the half shaft into the brake drum… I need to make a pin spanner then remove the seal as intact as possible so I can measure it up for a replacement…

If my experience to date is anything to go by, even with paperwork there’s not much chance of retaining the original registration and getting an age related one isn’t straightforward either…..
