Panda Alessi: The Pandarin

Aston Martin

So he didn’t manage to sell the roof at £99, yet suddenly it’s worth £150?!

Nice one......

In his defence it was £99 just for the unsold glass, when I said I needed all of the roof plus headlining and everything that goes with it. Blinds and the switch etc, he decided it was £150 DIY.

Skydome can fuck itself. :(

Spent 10 seconds removing the headliner (properly) spent the rest of my life figuring out how to remove the bastard roof.

I failed, the only torx bolts remove accessories. Such as the blind rails etc. I manually opened the roof expecting hidden bolts... And nothing.

Theres definitely glue holding it down. But it can't be 100% glued and nothing else?

P.s. I managed to get the passenger door mirror.

Removable then, but with a cheesewire thing or the bendy blades windscreen fondlers use.

If upullit allowed, I'd just chop the bastard roof off. Sadly they don't allow, I see myself buying a shagged panda next year and taking both to a bodyshop.

I'm aware that these look like they were painted using a toothbrush and hammerite and generally shite, but it's just a plastidip mockup to see if I want them body coloured or left standard.

Upullit had a stupid fat Panda 2012+

I assumed that the wiper arms would fit my Panpan. The spindles are alot narrower on the new Pan. :(

So I left with these instead, which can be modified...

I have some 55mm ID/60mm OD wheel centre caps with the blue logo like this on, any use to you?

They didn’t fit the weird alloys on the 100HP (not the original ones)

Thanks, but the Alessi has no badge trims.

I'm not a doctor of plastics... The Internet said use nail varnish remover or wet sand the old blue paint off the badges. The nail varnish remover worked perfectly on the back, but the front has gone all white and manky. Even though it's the opposite side of the same plastic.

Oh well, £2.50 down.

Just caught up with this thread. I'm loving the hot panda action all the way. But everytime I see a pic of the orange/white versions posted here I always think of these..........

That's the very first 'special edition' car ever available, the 2CV SPOT.

What about the Minor Million? I suspect there were others.

If you could seriously stick a note saying “if ever interested in selling please call x”

Happy to do that. What number should I write down in place of the kiss? :)

I guess it's time for an update.

Because Craig is a hero among men, he tracked down the owners address.

So, just before Christmas I wrote a letter saying to the owner of the green one that I must have it at some point.

The guy emailed back and was thrilled that I'd managed to send him a letter stating how much I coveted his green Alessi.

"Like you I have just spent several hundred pounds on her. Front shocks. Track rods. Cam belt. Rear brake slave cylinders and service"

Somehow it's on 140,000 miles, he loves it and isn't going to sell it anytime soon. He suggested I drive my Pandarin to Jersey for the first annual Alessi meet. :D

Hopefully one day I can manage to persuade him to part with it. But considering the milage I don't think he's going to let it go easily.

Great to hear you got in touch with him. You probably won't get your hands on it until it has officially died but at least you'll get first dibs on those 4 little men, 3d scan and reprint them and become some kind of Holy Panda Jesus, St. Pandarin if you like.

I am wondering if he'll send me one so I can get them knocked up.
