Mr_Bo11ox
Some mega spots there trigsbury, that Sethmobile rootes estate is absolutely GR14, as is the Ital postoffice van. I'm sure when i bought that old Ital some years back I collected it from 109LandyS3's office carpark at Brooklands, it look familiar.

vulgalour
I've heard the Polo described as the modern day Morris Minor and from these spots I can see why. The Y reg is quite an early Mk2. Split_Pin
Brilliant selection of photos there. I didnt see the yellow Toledo in youur earlier post. I used to like spotting these in the early 80's as they looked so dumpy compared to the Dolomite. Your one is just as I remember them. The Humber Hawk is totally awesome. I'm just imagining the driver having a stall at the autojumble chock full of dusty, rusty, obscure old rammel, all at high prices and he's probably happy to have never sold a thing

CreepingJesus
I spotted that Merc towing Merc myself, and I think it was on the A1. Might have been the M9, but it was round Edinburgh way. I think your photo flatters both cars, 'cos I recall thinking the CE was in need of some TLC, and the tow car was smoking a bit under load! I wondered at the time if it was an AS mission, clearly not.Cheers for the pics anyway, Trig. Much enjoyed.

trigger
Whilst sat at the pub on Shotley Marina this afternoon enjoying a nice, cool Adnams (proper ale) i nearly spaffed my Y-fronts when this Acclaim came into the car park, I got chatting to the owner later on, It seems he paid £25 for the car a few years ago and it's now covered over an amazing 300000 miles!, It's a ex police panda car too. I asked about the stickers and it's used for a Triumph based charity run called the reliability run which starts in Enfield, goes to John O Groats then back to Lands Ends before ending somehwre else which I can't remember, It was the original route ran by Triumph back in the 60's. The chap and his American mate have done the event a number of times over the years in the car and never have any problems with it, he had drove all the way up from Farnborough to show his friend around Britain when i saw him and was a real knowledgeable Triumph perv owning a number of others including a concourse Herald, his American friend owned a number of Triumph Vitesses and a rare 1971 Dolomite 1850 in the states! Split_Pin
Excelent find of a Sunday afternoon and hats off to the owner for the purchase price and subsequent mileage. Surely if it's not given him much trouble then that must be the lowest running cost per mile of any car!
