It turns out I have a squirrel residing on a tree in my garden, i found out when I put some fresh peanuts, seeds and a filled coconut half on my feeder and within half an hour the little cute squirrel was gathering nuts and seeds, my god its a cute bugger, squirrels are one of my favourite things, I love how they are so graceful and fluid in their movements, i feel blessed that this little fella chose my garden

Here he is, I think I'll call him syril

Takes quite a few of them to make a decent pie though.

We have some woods at the end of our garden and there's loads of squirrels in there. We left loads of nuts and stuff out for the birds but the squirrels liked them too. Gradually we moved the nuts closer and closer to the house until the nuts were sat on the floor inside the house, just inside the back door. They came inside and took them. Eventually it was possible to hold a nut and get a squirrel to take it from your hand!

They are cute little things, I don't know why people call them vermin. They don't do any harm at all here.

we lost a much-loved to Aunt to cancer a couple of weeks ago. Maureen had been battling it for the last 12 years in various forms and it finally defeated her. As is sometimes the custom, she had requested very little in the way of flowers, and requested donations instead to Cancer Research UK.

My lad was rocked by her passing, it's the first significant death in his family and he was especially close to her, the two of them had a shared love of rugby amongst other things, He had been looking for a way to raise a bit more than the £10 pocket money he had already given. So he decided to shave his hair off and raise money that way. I'm one of the assitant coaches for his age group, and the rugby club was a natural place. We shaved it all off this morning after their training session.

Fowlers beasty does look massive, is it as big in real life, or is it because it's far away?

I live in the middle of an estate that's why I'm even happier to see a squirrel, my garden is home to several different types of small birds as well, i love wildlife

Caution, may contain nuts.

They're a pest when you're feeding birds though.

Sunset tonight is very pretty.

Went out to try and find the missing nut for my rear wiper earlier, and ended up cleaning the inside of my car out whilst I looked. Took the scrapper Miele I bought 2 months ago out the boot and to my surprise it worked.

Eva then earned her tea tonight and vacuumed my car out

Didnt find the nut though, so made sure the linkage was the right wwy round, and will have a rootle through my stepdads big box of random nuts and bolts tomorrow to see what I can find.

If not, ruffgeezer, do you still have several old ZxS at the bottom of your garden? May need a rear wiper arm retaining nut...

Zoidberg Rover looks lower than a BX.  That was a surprise.

But look how bulbous the Picasso looks. Not to mention that Clio. The bx was a decent sized family car- my parents had five of them in a row and were quite ample for a family holiday in France for three weeks.

This is a while old now but, in order to celebrate* the 20 years of the RAV4, Toyota UK decided to buy an original 3-door, give it a spruce up and stick it on display. They went for a good, well.maintained one but unfortunately, once they started to look at it they realised that, well, actually they'd bought a bit of a lemon:

I got an e-mail from the Honda dealer this morning saying 'thank you for you recent visit for service....' and asking me if I get a questionnaire from Honda UK to answer everything with a '5' as anything less is not good enough for them (Honda UK that is). This is my reply to him:

Dear Vic,

I have nearly 700 'friends' on Facebook (and a few in real life) and they are
all sick to death of me singing the praises of Speedwell Honda. I hope I have
gained you a few new customers over the past 18 months as I have recommended you
to every Honda owner I meet, and every person looking to buy a car... 'go to
Speedwell Honda' I say, 'Brilliant people there and great deals!'. People are
now beginning to think I am on commission from you (I am, right?).

It is really getting tedious now, can you please be more like the usual car
dealers and balls up occasionally? You know, forget appointments, not have a
courtesy car available, only do half the job, over-charge and under-deliver? I
expect you to try harder in this regard :)

Seriously, once again perfect experience and Dan, Craig and Emma are lovely to
deal with.

Wishing you all great success in the future.

Best regards,

David Towers.

And got this in reply:

Dear Mr Towers,

I am very pleased that you took the time to respond to my e-mail; it has made my
morning - such a great response!

I have forwarded this on to the parties "that need to know".

Sorry but I cannot promise that we will try to mess up more! But seriously
though, it is wonderful that you have taken the time to write this reply and we
will of course endeavour to keep living up to Honda and our customer's high
expectations. We pride ourselves in the importance of providing exceptional
service; and in your case we seem to be! I am sure you will let us know if we do
ever slip up...

Kind regards

Vic

Could Speedwell Honda possibly contact Blackpool Honda and pass on the formula? Customer satisfaction being paramount etc. IME Blackpool Honda just want the money.

That was a good read, but imagine if you or I had tried to get those rav4 body parts... "oh no sir, we dont supply those anymore" "12 thousand year waiting list etc"

Amazing how thorough a restoration can be if you can call the parts department on the internal number and have a word...

Nice to see them doing it though, wonder if Citroen would like to do the same to my zx, then give it back...

Car insurance renewal came through with just* an increase of £10 to £260.

MoneySupermarket offered esure at £178 followed the link, all of a sudden £170. Not bad at all :-D

And, presumably, you don't have to worry how much any of it costs.

Seeing how many 406 parts are now unavailable I'd expect every single last part for a ZX to be rocking horse poo.

Went to Blackpool in the P4, then down to visit friends in Cheshire and back across the cat and fiddle to South Lincs. With only 75bhp Rover has to work hard, must be the lowest powered car I saw on the road.

You don't need power when your car looks as good as a P4!
