Congratulations. Why are they taking £287.07 in October?

Must be nice to reach the end of that, a real weight off.

When I picked up the car today, got the radio on (eventually!) and the first song that was playing was Kayliegh by Marillion. I took that as a good omen! :)

Also, I got a wave from a fellow owner on Shaldon bridge :)

If you are a fan, I recommend you try to see these guys

I went to a gig last weekend and had an absolutely bloody brilliant time.

They're not, I've cancelled the standing order - they had another payment scheduled as I was £3.22 in debt (to six companies, so an average of about 50p per creditor) after they took Septembers so I just made a manual payment to stop them having to refund me £280-odd quid.

It is a massive load off, the nice thing is I never went bankrupt but because I've been making every agreed payment for seven years, my credit file is actually pretty sound now. It wasn't, at one point they wouldn't even give me a phone contract but it seems better now. I still get humorous credit card offers through the post ("You've been pre-accepted to receive an offer of 34.9% APR! You can have up to £500 limit (with £500 deposit held on file)") but I just won't go down that route again.

I'm taking the XM to France next week. I've been wanting to do this since about November last year. I can't believe I'm actually doing it.

I can't believe I still own it to be honest. Should clock up my 10,000th mile in it on the trip. I'm going to have to service it AGAIN at this rate. And MOT it again. Has it effectively stopped me from being a serial shiter?

I wanted to take my XM to France, but sold it before I went! It would've been perfect. Instead I took the MR2 there in the shot.

Spotted these in a quirky little stall shop in Liverpool today:

I don't collect stuff at all! I had both of these when I was little. Who buys these and doesn't take them out of the boxes?

Normandy via Portsmouth. Hoping to grab the boringly iconic Le Mans pitlane shot at some point.

More bloody Jukes though :(

Can't move for them round here (three miles from the Nissan plant).

I actually think they're good looking cars (waits for 1,000,000 people to hit the reply button) although are woeful inside

Good news anyway as Honda are going down the pan here - no-one's buying the Civic in Europe

Went to the wholesale place today, and discovered somebody has finally used their brain there. Previously they've had broken pallets & timber dumped out back, but no you can't possibly have any of them. There's now a pile with a 'help yourself' sign so dropped the seats n filled the disco 'cos free fire is always good. Ma was less impressed at all the shopping being dumped on her feet.

Called at the chippy, and she didn't get a bag, so what shopping can we stash elsewhere? Bag with 2 pineapples in it, so jammed one each side of the cubby box. Ma can't understand why I keep mumbling about having pineapple'd my disco.

Got my saph back from the bodyshop at 12 cleaned it inside as it was thick with dust, took it for an m.o.t at 2 as it had ran out while it was being painted, it passed no problem, I am sad though I've not long dropped the Cavalier I have been driving back off at sutty2006's after i washed and hoovered it. I've enjoyed the time driving the cav.

The saph is filthy already

Miss_Partridge offered to buy me a wing mirror for the 605 as a 2nd anniversary present, today. You know she's a keeper when she offers to buy you bits of an obscure, near extinct French barge.

Indeed so. Mrs Beard bought me the Mercury in June this year bless her.

I told her in late July, just a few days before the bank statement came....

Taking the dog to his hydrotherapy i went through Barrowford and noticed a new merc covered in moss joining the decrepit rovers that are parked on a bit of land.

Will have to find a reason to go back in the light to get some pics ( or do them on an etch a sketch)

I went on the DVLA website just now to have a look at what the LGV theory test might entail.  They had mock tests available, so I ran through one quickly in about 10 minutes just to get an idea of the types of questions (I never had to do a theory test when I got my car licence, cos I r old).  I only facking passed!  Of course there's little chance of me being able to replicate that feat again without at least some study, but it does give me confidence that I might actually be able to do it.

The hazard perception test, on the other hand...

Don't forget the CPC. I'm thinking of doing my HGV for a change of scenery. I'm bored of just driving buses.
