Think I'd be leaving the very tried and tested Valencia engine alone, look at all the extra useless plastic sensor shit on top of the mondeo one. It's bound to go wrong over some tiny insignificant problem*

Anyway enough moaning and sort of related. I need one for my wall if someone can crochet

Sack off the aircon and all needless pish and fit one of these ecoboost engines to a mkI Fiesta and see what economical and fun motoring should be like.

Don't bother, just buy a Daihatsu ... Charade GTtis of 25+ years ago did 100+bhp from a 3 pot 1 litre in a light shell and were quite* reliable.

Great stuff. Mrs DW also enjoyed a visit to the exchange earlier this year. In fact, she spent so long in there I thought I'd lost her. Did you get my email by the way?

I did, thanks. I meant to reply from the hotel but their wifi was having a moment.

I'd never seen a picture of a Pontiac Le Mans before. It looks strangely familiar.

Operation Big Shed is go!

I expect everyone has forgotten, but last autumn I talked about a former chicken shed I was hoping to rent at a secret location not very far from home.  Anyway, I've been to look at it this morning and it now has the promised new wooden frame with steel sides and roof.  It looks fantastic, and I'm moving in at the beginning of September.  Storage for 5-6 cars easily, plus a working area and room to spare for storing tools etc.  Power isn't wired up yet, but that will come in a couple of months.

I'm very, very excited about this.

Skizzer, It is a well known fact* that the number of cars you own will increase to exceed the storage space available.

p.s. I'm sure you need a new best friend to help you fill the space.

Ah, you speak words of great wisdom, as ever.

The only trouble is, looking at the space again this morning, the number of cars I own appears to have already increased to exceed the storage space available.  (I had been thinking impure thoughts about JohnK's/Trigger's Merc 190E, but I fear that would be at least one jalopy too many.)

Sadly I could possibly have squeezed an A35 convertible in, but I didn't know when (or even if) this was going to happen and now it's too late :-(

I'll see what it looks like with a couple of cars inside, in a few weeks.  Then I'll let you know whether it's worth being nice to me ;-)

Ms C has sold my camper after a month of Ebay and Gumtree messers.

We chucked a decent battery on and bump started it down the road and obviously didn't* take an untaxed van that's been sat unstarted for 3 years for a five mile test drive up the lanes.

Buyer is quite tempted to drive it to a pre-booked MOT near home but wonders if a three hour drive might be taking the piss.

Last year i didn't drive a SORNed car from Co. Kerry to London for a pre-booked MOT.   In fairness I booked an MOT in Pembroke by the ferry but got delayed so the place was shut and I certainly didn't carry on to London.

Verdict - 3 hour drive is nothing, he'll be fine. a big deal - don't do it.
