What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Just arrived home to see this little guy (/girl?) standing its ground under a tree and swearing loudly while my cat belted it repeatedly in the face:

I locked the cat indoors and returned outside for a few pics. It was still in the same place, and after I'd taken some snaps, it came right out of the grass towards me, stretched up off the ground and started yelling at me. Proper, proper nutcase.

Also, my cat reeks of urine so I suspect he may have wet himself at some point during the encounter - can't say I blame him.

Just bought the Theory of everything. I shall be busy watching later....

Rhyl was perfectly nice (and full of Bristol VRs) in 1995 when I was there last... should I keep that memory and never go back then?

I remember going to Rhyl sun centre when it opened in the 80's it was the absolute nuts.

Never go back. There are no VRs nowadays.

These are awesome, possibly a little pricey though, I can only find a price for the trailer tent thing and that's 100,000aus dollars. Maybe Philibusmo will turn up at next years Shitefest with one on the back of his Falconpost-17414-0-24619900-1433795302_thumb.jpg

I am getting the gearbox oil changed tomorrow so need to drop it off at the garage and ride into work. However, as I know its fits I might leave it there, just in case.

It's a shit tip, an eyesore, an absolute dump.

Just had a great game of rubbish dump roulette down at my local recycling centre. The miserable bastard who works there and complains about absolutely everything suddenly showed up, so when he turned his back I started putting wood in the chipboard skip, chipboard in the wood skip, plastic in the rubble one, etc. I was just firing my car up and he started shouting and going mad as he fished stuff out of the wrong skips.

BINGO!

There is one millitant chap at my local tip. I went round with some turf once, in bin bags to keep the car clean. Fair enough he wanted it out of the bags but when he said earth in that one grass in that one i lost the plot. How was i meant to get the earth off the grass? In the end i dumped bags an all in the "all other stuff skip" and he chased me out of the tip  :-D

Picture the scene.

Local Morrisons,late last night (well,8pm)

Quick runaround to gather butty ingredients and various bits to last the week.

Get to the self service till and oh no,the till Hitler is on shift and of course she notices that I have (well) over 15 in the basket.

"Can't put them through" she barks, too many items .

But there's only 1 till going, and look at the queue !! Says I.

"Company policy" she states whilst pointing at the sign.

So I get another basket and move 15 bits over, then start checking it through.

Can see she ain't happy so I start messing up the scans and needing assistance, just to keep her busy.....

If there was anywhere else open I think I would have just left it all there tbh...........

Went to the scrapyard for a mooch around and saw a chap who sometimes comes to our meets who also has a black sapphire, but I haven't been able to get a picture of our cars together, so had a good chat and I spied my chance

I went to the bank to pay in some cash I had from selling the civic last week - when the girl fed it through the note counting machine there was £20 more than I thought. She double checked and sure enough, I was £20 better off than I realised :)

More tip tomfoolery. They just tried to turn my old man away because his small car trailer of rubble was "trade waste". He's 87 and has difficulty walking.

That made me remember another tip trip. We had hired a transit from the local 245000 mile transit hire man to move some stuff to a new house, then a quick tip run. Arrived as it was white we were quizzed. Could we get the doors open on the van, could we hell. Chap followed us until we got to the skips and got the doors opened. He looked so dissapointed when we open the doors and what was inside? What we had told him was. Knob.

Used to be a tip/recycling place in Padiham a few years ago before it was all 'centralised'. The guy that ran it was an old school park keeper type. Had hanging baskets on the railings around the skips and checked everything before it got dumped. Wrong type of rubbish? No chance of leaving it in any of his skips. He actually wore a peaked cap IIRC.

Obviously one shouldn't smile at another motorist's misfortune, but I must confess there was something rather nostalgic today about seeing - probably for the first time since the 90s - a car with all its wheels nicked.

There is exactly one of these with 2 wheels nicked off the right-hand side and laying on its sill around the corner from me, back window smashed in. I remember when this happened to Metros in the mid-90s.
