Spent half the day doing the rounds of my local scrappies. I didn't get anything but to be surrounded buy all that scrap made all warm and fuzzy inside. One scrapyard had most of all the mk3 models ever made.

I noticed the exhaust on the saph wasnt sitting right earlier, I popped underneath to investigate it and the bracket had broken the weld, it must have happened last night while I was out for a drive, I called powerflow told him what it was, he told me to take it straight to him, when I got there it was straight in and sorted with no fuss, great customer service, to top it off this was around the corner

Grin - I've scored a new job = more time off and more pay.

Downside - Current manager has began being funny with me & new job requires a 30 minute drive, but the drive is an excuse to get a Motorbike !

My mate who sadly passed away in a tragic accident a couple of weeks ago has been honoured in what I reckon is a fitting way for a man who was Britain's youngest PSV driver when he passed his test on his 18th birthday... Derek may be gone, but Derek's bus will always be Derek's bus. R.I.P. fella.post-4240-143042504938_thumb.jpgpost-4240-143042505376_thumb.jpg

The Brava and Bravo I like the look of.  Somehow, I'd forgotten about the estate version, the Marea Weekend until tonight when Mike and I were car shopping for someone... and finding things we want to buy instead.

I liked the Marea Weekend. Not long before or after I passed my test, I did consider a Marea Weekend as a first car. I remember eyeing one up in Belgium.

When I was in France last year, I think the warehouse manager kept a Fiat Marea saloon in our garage, I briefly drove it a few times and it wasn't a bad little thing.

Mareas will be one of those cars that will end up all but extinct. I have an odd urge to try out a 20v one before they all disappear (if they haven't yet already).

Nothing at all to do do with cars, but some 'management speak' recently heard made me giggle.

Quote... "It is like teaching a pig to sing, it wastes your time and just annoys the pig."

I had a 20v Marea saloon - it was quite a lot of fun.  Always fancied trying one with a Fiat Coupe Turbo engine fitted.  I also had a 2.4 JTD Weekend - that was an impressive bit of kit.

Aircraft related. The local council own the airfield, it's out of town and nobody around. They decided to make some money by charging landing fees. It is regularly used by pilot training outfits from elsewhere as somewhere to practise touch and go landings as it is rare in having a sealed runway. The council solution for how to collect the fees----- they have installed an honesty box !

Nobody will see the planes land, and they usually don't even stop. Predicted (by me) income for the first 12 months is -$10,000 because the cost of installation of a secure money receptacle will be about that.

Went to the park today wiv da mutts and saw the most 'orrible Skoda estate diesel on a 'P' plate, it was filthy dirty and looked to be hanging onto life by the thinnest thread, it was also absolutely belching out black smoke which continued for a second or two after it was turned off.

The grin?

In the drivers side rear window was a HUGE poster suggesting we vote for the green party :)

have gotten the xjr off the drive today for the first time in along time. have had a go at the seat with some autoglym leather balm stuff which has taken some more of the yellow goop off of the front seats.

brought the car back home over the moors and between hutton le hole and the A172 moor road there was a knob head in a mark 2 leguna actually trying to out run and over take me.

caught sight of him as he flew through hutton-le-hole coming up on the back of us as we crossed the cattle grid and start the climb up onto the moors proper.

like this tool was all over both sides of the road even on blind bends where i couldn't see what was coming so that dip stick behind definately could not. but i gotta hand it too him, he seriously thought that he could pass an xjr, going up a hill.

squeezed the throttle down, got the transmission into kick down and away we went. would have loved to see his face as the jaguar pulled away into the distance, taking care of my speed what with pheasants, rabbits and ikkle lambs around on either side of the road.

what a dick head.
