Car boots are back on! Naturally I struck gold

The yellow triumph herald that I've seen before was there too, as was a Bedford rascal pickup. I took no pics though, which I admit was a little stupid

Living in Cheshire. It's got it's dumps (like all counties do) but there's so much on your door step, it's class.

Can you imagine the owners club seeing it, be enough to send them over the edge. :)

Double grin today - on the third attempt I managed to correctly apply the tint film to the Kia's rear window to reduce the sun's glare on Micro_Stanky when in transit. The first two goes were utter fiascos but having removed the glass from the door and applied the film indoors it was miles easier. £4.99 well spent at Lidl. For those thinking about doing the same, remove the glass. Its fucking impossible to do a good job with it in situ.

Secondly, just bottled up a new batch of Brewly beer - an ESB this time and it looks like another good 'un. 2 weeks then I'll know how good it tastes!

Yesterday I unearthed my train set. It doesn't work very well. Even when it was new I remember it was a lot of work keeping the track clean enough to prevent the train stopping, and a decade of storage hasn't helped. Got the thing to do a couple of unassisted loops, albeit while making an unpleasant screeching sound.

Unfortunately Kitty Beeching turned up, and after axing those trees, shut down the line.

Crossing the M8 (E-W) today I passed a 'kosher' Bentley... as in green and spokey wheels ... Guy looked quite, shall we say, 'at home' on the 70.

I had those Sierras and a transporter wagon to go with them, only had that and a couple of coal wagons which made a Class 58 a bit overkill to pull the lot.

I too used to probably get a couple of laps after setting it all up, cleaning the track with meths, getting bored and putting it away again. I'd have been more interested in making scenery, but I didn't have anywhere for it to live permanently so couldn't do fancy stuff with fake gravel and moss.

Went to a show at Weston park today, in the auto jumble found a pair of mk1 sierra inner wings for mrs fp's project teabag, well chuffed doesn't reflect how I feel, also got a brand new timing light for £12 and a record no3 vice for pennies as well, i drove home without shoes on as they were covered in mud and I didn't want to get my car dirty, my god how free you feel without shoes, i now understand why barefoot enjoys it

I always drive barefoot on a long journey...

I only realised earlier on it was Weston Park show today or I would of gone, thats usually one of the best events of the year :(

I did this today!

The first start up since 2000. That's 15 years and a few turns only to get it kicking over and starting up!

+1 for barefoot driving, it seems to make the drive seem a lot more 'connected' than through the medium of shoes. I first discovered this when I lost my shoe in a very swampy puddle/bog and had to drive home without it. Since then I try to drive barefoot whenever possible.

Also, is it actually illegal, or is it an urban myth? Not that the Shoe Police are ever likely to convict anyone on this point...

i like to drive in me socks* on a long journey

*bare feet would be less than perfect in the spaceship cos metal padals

Is that 'gold' because you are a vacuum cleaner pervert Beko, or because of the colour scheme of the pictured Electrolux?? I have one exactly the same model stashed away in the loft. It's not that colour though, mine is grey with bits of blue on it...

Also, I hate barefoot driving or even just socks. It doesn't feel right as I have to 'hug' or 'cling' my feet to the pedals by arching them...Horrid.

Not illegal apparently http://www.rac.co.uk/community/blog/rac-blog/december-2012/driving-without-shoes-is-it-illegalWell, that clears that up :?

I used to do it all the time driving home after a hot day at work. I even got pulled over once and the rozzers had to wait for me to put my shoes and socks back on. I've also driven in welly boots, which is the complete opposite (guess which pedal you're pressing now)

Apparently it's illegal to drive topless in Croatia, I don't mean just for women either.

Gold because apparently their quite rare! 506 was made in 1980 for about a year before changing!

Will be on eBay after a refurb, hopefully add to the holiday pot!

I have never driven Barefoot. I met him at the station when he bought my Scirocco.

I took a deposit on my recently acquired Suzuki SV650 from a bloke well into his 70's. He had to sell his own bike a year ago due to his health, but following heart surgery, he has now been given the all clear to ride again.

He will pick it up next weekend. Nice to see a septagenarian acting like a teenager. I hope I have his enthusiasm when I am his age.

I have special shoes to drive the X1/9 as the brogues I usually wear are too wide. Couldn't drive shoeless though as the pedal force needed is too great.

On the way home from work in St. Albans this afternoon I spotted a lovely Rover P5 saloon in dark blue, then along the A414 I spotted a nippy but careworn Volvo 480ES - F reg. Happy!

underrated

Was it? I thought it was well received and had a good reception all round. Everyone I know who saw it loved it.
