watching road cops - nz polis

...

for once im glad i live here :D (even the irish dont charge that much  )

Fines in Australia are even moar.  In New South Wales, exceeding the limit by 30kph (like scooby man you saw on TV) = AU$436 fine.  Ã‚£295 in local currency.

31kph over the limit, though, and you're into a whole new boatload of awfulness.  The fine for that is AU$835 (£565).  Yeowch.

I've had a song stuck in my head for 3 days now. This one:

It's highly insensative of sister's guinea pig to go and snuff it today. Never mind, I like bollockings.

Road cops NZ, I thought this lad got off very lightly ! Only $1600 and 9 months off driving.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/65230464/Moment-of-stupidity-says-240kmh-speedster

And big changes coming this year lowering tax substantially !

saw the website for that for 15 it was coming down from 477 to 407

thatll be ok then

the fines fine (sic) - its the road tax that made me go EEK :D

the other fine they give out also is the if you crash and its your fault (clearly) you get fined for not stopping short (even when you crash on yer own) or not looking where yer goin etc :D

and no mention of court - do they think wallet stealing will make the people not do it or summat :D

In an odd turn of events- the following have happened:

1. Pistonheads seems to like my Polo..

2. I've been invited to register on clubpolo- recommended by a PH fella for discounts/parts etc

Wonder whether I can resist the pull of Mr Delmonte!

Club Polo is really hit and miss.  If you keep a car stock they'll demand you modify it.  If you modify a car they'll demand you do it their way.  Got pretty depressing at times when I was on there with my old Mk2, RetroRides was a better and more supportive audience.

Mercedes takes the piss out of hipsters.

Recently, there is even an outbreak of the hipsterish lumbersexual look here in Grimsby.  And I thought I'd come to live somewhere that fashion and trendz had passed by.

Mine was ace in the deep snow a couple of years back - I was pushing a bow-wave of snow in front of me on the backroads due to not enough ground clearance, but it kept on moving.

Been watching them for a while since I saw them do this cover of Dancing Barefoot, with Patti Smith in tears in the audience.

Brilliant duo and Johanna is gorgeous.

Cort:  For a second there, I thought that was a white Rover 25.

Apparently a novice rally stage is coming right past my actual house at 02:00 on the 15th February. Like, 15 feet from my living room window. :-)

Nosing around on facebook and I found a couple of pictures from 4L International in 2011 of me and my van. Well chuffed to find these as I lost my camera somewhere on the way home so obvs I have now stolen and rehosted these pictures.  Booked to go to the show again this summer and absolutely can't wait!

Wow. I heard them on the radio a while back, but that was astonishingly intense. ALL MODERN MUZIK R NOT SHYTE.

EDIT - here's my own grin. Just found this photo I took at the International Citroen Car Clubs Rally in 2012. Who needs four wheels?

I'm in Australia. It's warm, sunny and there is an amazing amount of old chod on the roads. I will be looking to buy a car myself out here shortly, I'm looking for something manual with airco but the possibilities seem to be pretty much endless.

Here's a very small selection of the chod that has been within a few streets of where I am staying, expertly photoed on my $99 smart phone which came with $50 free credit - there is currently about $2 to the pound.
