It is very very close the font that was used in VW adverts of the 60s, but by the time the Nova was out their adverts had moved on to be more 'lifestyle executive aspirational prosumer' type bollocks so is definitely a fake.

Today,youngest daughter phoned a disposable coffee cup company up to order some cups for a fundraising event she's doing at school. She found the company on Google ,saw it was local,so phoned and was put through to the sales manager.

The conversation went something like.

Daughter 'Hello I'd like some cups please"

Sales manager " How many?"

Daughter " 50 please"

Sales manager " our minimum order is 100, but if you have 250 we'll print them for a price of 9p per cup.

Daughter(brandishing my debit card)" Ok I'll have 250"

Sales manager " Great ,and if future orders are over a million we can talk big discounts!"

Daughter realises she's about to pay £22,500 on my card clarifies she actually wants 50 actual cups.

Sales manager calmly explains they supply Costa,Starbucks etc not small amounts.

But the bit that warms my heart is that he said pop round to the factory reception and he' ll leave a box of 250 free samples for her to collect.

Restores your faith in human nature.

I'm convinced our lass is playing a trick on me. Well, I hope she is or I'm going out "sleep beer shopping" again. I bought a couple of bottles of that in the offer and I drank them both, but the next night there was still a bottle of it in my "cellar temp mancave" beer fridge. So I drank it. I look in there now, and there is a bottle. It's like beer groundhog day, it won't go away. I'm not that big of a fan of it, but I could quite happily keep the "trick" going with a few bottles of old pec for about 25 years.

I don't do grinning because I'm a miserable bastard, I don't look forward to anything as I think it will go wrong etc.

 

Today, I was as near to a grin as possible as I bought a nice big sandblasting cabinet, if I can grab some kiln dried sand in the morning I will mostly be blasting shit all tomorrow !
