If 15 aliens took my Cherry I certainly wouldn't go to the papers about it.

I tried and failed to get a Montego in C&SC. Heritage Motor Centre BMC BL day report. I'm not giving up just yet...

It worked.  Qualz!!  This place is, &c.

You can use this on most carb engines, even used it on petrol trucks and tractors.

My local wheel alignment* spot struggled with a CX today.

Not surprised. Needs doing with the engine running.

11:00 September 5th 1974: driving test.

40 years on, 3 points, 3 fines, 2 write-offs,1 proper crash, V. max 135mph, more than half a million miles and an awful lot of money later

and I still enjoy it all   :-D

Still not owned a straight six or a V8 though  :-(

I have one of each of them at the moment and have been driving 20 years less than you. Read it and weep.

Had lots of straight 6 and v8s. And Audi 5 pots (which I reckon are brilliant engines)

My volvo 940 is the straight 6 turbo diesel for extra listening pleasure.

I've had engines with 2,3,4,6 and 8 cylinders; 4 and 6 in both straight and V, 8 in V only.  The best soundtrack is easily the V8.

I just remember, completely randomly, the dream I had last night of driving around in an old JRG Mk10 Jag with no functioning brakes unless my passenger and I wound the windows down very fast and shouted BRAKING very loudly.  This meant the Jag could stop slightly better than if you put your feet out the doors.

I have been quite ill with some sort of stomach bug lately so I'm pinning the blame on that.

The dunlop brakes on the Mk 10 were like that when working,i almost drove mine off the Hythe quay one dark night when i wanted it to stop and it didnt believe me.

Vulg you've just reminded me where's that dreaming of shite thread, before I forget, last night I dreamt I was driving my mk1 Sierra and was being pursued by someone in a bronzey brown kia magentis (do they even make them that colour I've only seen silver ones) flashing at me so I pulled over and the driver was excited looking round my car, telling me about sierras, it was bloody strange

Speaking of dreams, the one I had last night involved too many cars and trade insurance. I wonder if it's a prophesy.

Seeing Mr Ratdat and his Cherry in Classic and Sports Car.

Really? I bet that's the first (and possibly the last) time that a Europe/Arna appears in C&Sc! I better go find a copy!

It was in CCB and CCW as well.

I missed the CCB piece unfortunately.

I had a dream last week that I was driving a brown Moke type thing but it had side panels welded on and was pretty rough and ready. It then disappeared from under me when I was driving. Completely vanished. I was miffed. Not sure if it was post-apocalypse zombie thing or just odd.

I've got a mk10 jag which had little or no brakes, got quoted £300 for a master cylinder, searched the net googling the part numbers and looking at various pictures and found it was the same as series 3 landy

£42.......NICE!

Hooray, another year's MOT certificate on my BX (actually, 54 weeks as I remembered to take the old certificate in). Failed on a couple minor LHM leaks (witness my entire lack of astonishment) and o/s/f ball joint, which I knew was u/s, so doesn't count (my theory is that only expensive things and/or nasty surprises count as proper MOT failures, rest is just normal servicing, works wonders for my attitude to cost of shite motoring).

Might be moving it on next year sometime if I can find something fun to replace it with. With which to replace it.

My missus wants to help me do a tip run this morning. The car now has some new wild life to go with the spiders, flies and midgie type things in it, in the form of maggots. I have a feeling this isn't going to end well.
