Previous daft suggestions eclipsing potential. I have a 1933 BSA pushbike for sale, and I've just been offered this a leveller for it:

'Original 1980's he man castles both in excellent condition..... Comes with some original action figures.'

He seems to be serious as well.

Edit: Uh-oh, rejection didn't go down to well:

Exactly like that, though oddly enough the few times I rode it, it was sans basket.

Dad just rang up to ask me for directions, I can only assume it is backwards night.  Anyway, the main reason he called was that I used to live where he's driving and know where he's going but also because on the three occasions he's stopped to ask a pedestrian it's been a prostitute.

Well done, Dad.

Just received the new insurance policy for the RoD.

It says (among shitloads of other nonsense):

"Not to be used in any capacity within or on the Nurburgring (sic) Nordschleife Toll road or Motorsport Complex."

What will the parking cost you though? I'm guessing around £94.

Lad at work who had just spent ten minutes blabbing on about how fast his Seat Ibiza tdi is and how well it handles, asked me whether it was FWD or RWD. He's owned it for about 3 or 4 months.

I told him that I will buy it off the insurance company when he puts it through a fence because the engine would go nice in my van.

Spanish housemate_lad shouting and making weird noises at the TV because the football is on. It's quite entertaining to listen to 2 floors up.

Spain are getting beat! I'm just surprised* that the £50 million goalscoring** machine that is Fernando Torres hasn't got a hatful.

I've just been reading a story on that scrapyard finds facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/6015764254/

A family member of a chap who's dying of cancer with just days to live asked on Thursday if anybody knew the whereabouts of a white Sapphire Cosworth that this chap used to own, apparently it has sentimental value as it was the car he got married in and how that he's dying he wanted to see it one last time, amazingly within a couple of hours a friend of the current owner saw the post, loaded it up on a trailer and had rushed it to the hospital.

Absolutely amazing stuff, It's so good to see something so heartwarming from a group normally full of arguing and bitching.

I understand that England are doing quite well in the cricket.

I understand that Dr Fuentes' clinic is a bit quieter these days...

They're quite happy to let you climb all over it too.

I often think the xm doesn't ride like the magic carpet it should, the odd rattle here and there etc, but swmbo went to a party earlier and got pissed and a lift home.

Just fetched the meriva back and fuck me I realised the XM was fine! Yes the track rods need changing but there were bumps in the road back I didn't know existed! It felt like I was driving a plimsoll!

Do slightly miss 3 pedals though...

On the subject of floaty French things, it has been suggested more than once to me that the solution* to the inevitable total failure of all Hydragas units is to fit BX/XM/Xantia spheres to the Princess.  Likewise, the solution to fuel consumption has been suggested to be the 1.9TD Bosch pumped unit.  I like these ideas, but what I really want to do is turn the Princess into an electric car because that would be bloody awesome.

Wouldn't a Lucas powered Princess emit huge amounts of highly toxic loom smoke?

The new Lucas Princess, it's not going to pass any emissions tests any time soon.

I was talking to Barrett about this yesterday. Once you've done a few miles in an LHM veined Citroen, nothing else ever quite seems as comfortable.
