Aach I'd love a dug but me and the mrs are out working all day so it wouldn't be fair on it.

Merc has gone. Buyer wasn't even interested in checking it over or looking at the documents, just that it started. It is a genuinely decent car so glad it's found a home other than the bridge of doom

At least they helpfully put a sign behind saying what it's capable of carrying...

Shirley, the Twitzy's not wide enough for a sign that says FACK ALL MATE - YOUR AVIN A GIRAFFE IF YOU THINK THAT'LL GO IN

What sort of license do you need to drive one of those Renault Twizzles?

I'd like a shot of a twizy but I fear they've reduced their potential market on the uk by not fitting it with doors.

I think my local dealer has one but the only time you see it is when one of the sales reps goes to Tesco's in it for his dinner.

Would make a great work shitter. Although possibly slow with the 997 cc or whatever it is!

A guy (rich) over on RR saw my thread with the van and this photo:

Where I mention the seats are awesomely comfy, but buggered. He's said he's got a good pair on the garage, and I could have them for nowt if I could arrange collection from Bristol. I pretty much write it off as "never gonna happen" as I don't want to piss the guy off with sending couriers and whatnot.

I've just got a message out of the blue that the seats are on the way up the country with a lad who lives a few miles away. Amazeballs!

Making me grin is the sight of former shitests coming back again, It's a sign that the split board was the right decision.

I saw a mini cooper (BMW mini) today with the reg number 'THE 70S'. I don't know about you but that seems pretty flipping cool to me. The woman driving it looked about 40ish and I wouldn't say she was a MILF but I would have liked to chat her up about her reg plate nonetheless.

It seriously warms my cockles when things like this happens. Folk with a similar interest doing a good turn for another just because! Fantastic!

Meeting Bob (Outlaw118) at last was great, he's a top bloke and gave me a guided tour of his much-loved Capri which he's recently got back after having it restored.

I now have yet more tat that I really don't need. Cheers Bob!

This made me smile!

We have some 'friends' who we see now and again. Nice enough folk with decent values. But have a 17 year old daughter who 'wants things'.

They have plenty of money, big house and all the usual trappings, but I thought, until recently that they were fairly down to earth....

Now it seems the daughter has decided she wants a Porsche as her first car! She hasn't even started driving lessons yet. :-/

Parents have expressed an interest in my restored 944 as her 'first car'. Can't think of anything more unsuitable for a teenage girl than a 25 year old car, but what do I know?

Sounds crazy to me, but if they want to buy it would it be wrong to sell it to them?

Edit.

Probably the result of being old, but WTF? Teenage girl wants a Porsche, parents look at buying her one, she also runs up mobile phone bills of around £400 a month also..... They pay it.

Old fart mode engaged.

I can almost guarantee she would turn her nose up and refuse to drive it when she sees it anyway. Sounds like she'd be expecting a Cayenne or Boxster or suchlike.

Although, if she does like it, maybe she actually does have decent taste? More young girls should be encouraged to get behind the wheel of old motors, a girl I know is 17 and trundling around in a 56 year old Austin A30 which is awesome.

Brilliant. I'm quite determined to get my hands on some proper old tin again. Something pre-1960. Can't decide what, but as I can't afford 'owt at the moment, that doesn't matter anyway.

I'm going to sell one of the A35's in the spring and buy an A40 Somerset. Currently looking for a suitably scruffy, but solid and original one that can be left outside without worrying about it too much.

I hope you've drilled some air-holes in the boot-lid for her.
