Cars also feature in this video (NSFW for nudity and best listened to with the volume down TBH)

That's fucking awful. It sounds like a distorted sample of a busy childrens' play area. Although her norks are pretty nice!

Seeing a Vel Satis broken down in the rush hour earlier, right next to a tricky junction. The driver had the look of a man who was used to such things! I was passing on foot and did consider offering my help, but I know fuck all about such complicated French machinery.

My new glasses have just been delivered, less than a week since ordering. Oh and the major grin - everything is completely in focus.

^ Just picked mine up this morning. The novelty of being able to see in high def hasn't worn off yet!

Real grin was spotting a 740 Turbodiesel estate in the same colour as mine at the supermarket this morning and exchanging 740 owner waves. It looked damn tidy too.

It's the simple things in life...

Grin 1: CG125 engine rebuilt, knocking gone, rode it today and its smoother, got more power and starts more easily. Very happy, especially as the kit cost £40.

Grin 2: Rover moves into cheap but decent lockup later today. One less thing to worry about.

I have been explaining what needs to be done to finish dismantling the axle on the Princess and all I end up with is a string of innuendo.  All I'm trying to say is that the shaft is stuck in the bush.  If there was more lubrication used when the shaft was inserted it probably wouldn't be jammed in there now.  I'll have to pay a professional to help with my shaft because I'm getting nowhere whacking it on my own.

Don't we all sometimes, don't we all indeed...

Random observation - while filling up with 40 litres of Tesco's finest heavy oil, I noticed the little mechanical counters that tot up the total number of litres ever served from that pump:

* 1.6 million litres of diesel

* 1.7 million litres of petrol

* 59,000 litres of the pointlessly-expensive Momentum Tesco Finest petrol

Not sure why they even bother with that stuff - must cost more to cart it around than they make in selling it.

I'm having to watch that dancing thing on telly with the wife tonight which is only brightened up by Sophie Ellis Bexter.

Oh. God. Yes.

And Rachel Riley surely? I'll probably have to wait until tomorrow night to catch-up.

Never heard of Sophie Ellis Bexter, so I google imaged her.

Would. But I still prefer Rachel Riley.

Sadly I hate all forms of reality TV, so couldn't watch it anyway.

Did anyone else see the episode of "8 out of 10 cats does countdown" where Rachel Riley drew a big cock with numbers spunking out of it on her number board? Maybe it was a dream.

Posted

So do I Dicky, but it gains an exemption for some reason. Same as I like Moulin Rouge but hate, hate, HATE musicals.

EDIT - the cock and numbers DID happen. Wonderful.

New house has a good garage so spent a few nights in the week painting the walls and floor for no reason other than it got me out of unpacking house crap.

All fits in nice and have room to move around and fix stuff without taking it outside, just got to move all the tools in, so I can fix stuff. Curtains match the era of the old gal.

My lad got insured on his 147 today. It probably should be in the 'grumpy' thread I suppose as I probably won't get the chance to drive it again now, but he's wearing a massive grin and has done that 'just nipping out, back soon' thing countless times already.

RR seems to be full of tight chancers atm, like the bloke offering £20 less for philibusmo's T&T Pug ... ffs, it's an economical road legal motor for under £200.

Romance isn't dead.  Discovering your significant other is happy to both give and receive car parts as birthday and seasonal gifts is a wonderful moment.  I think I'm keeping this one.

He was the same one who offered £50 for the £60 Metro - he doesn't seem to quite get why his offers are considered insulting.  There was a bloke on there earlier this year offering a very dirty and tired-looking D-plate Honda Civic as a trade against pretty much everything that was worth more that his - including my Nova.  Mind you, stuff does seem to be selling on there lately.

Can I be the first amongst, no doubt, no-one to praise your taste in curtains.

I'm watching old "Scrapheap Challenge" - currently on the episode where they make jet powered dragsters.

Home-made jet engines strapped to a go-kart, not dangerous at all.

Before anyone asks I found them on everyone's favourite legal* Swedish file sharing bay.
