Bob Hoskins, Martin Shaw, Paul Eddington and David Daker are among the cast of this LWT crime series with a difference. Villains follows the exploits of nine bankrobbers from the moment of their dramatic escape from imprisonment; told from the point of view of the criminals, the individual stories of the men, their accomplices, their women and the audacious heist itself unfold through each of the 13 hour-long episodes.

Nine men move into a disused ladies’ lavatory and seal themselves in for the weekend. Then they tunnel their way up through the floor of a nearby City bank, and walk out clutching a third of a million pounds between them. It seems the perfect job – but something goes wrong. Most of the men are subsequently caught and convicted.

One year on, as the ‘Bog Robbers’ are being driven from prison to the Appeal Court, another ingenious plan is put into action. It sees them going on the run, taking desperate, sometimes farcical measures to evade recapture, and finding time to reflect on their shady pasts and uncertain futures.

Settling Curtis, my new cat, in is proving remarkably easy. He's made no attempt to escape or destroy anything, and has used the litter tray every time. I was expecting a bit of a sleepless time last night, but he spent most of the time fast asleep on the bed and barely made a sound. I'm off to work soon but am not too apprehensive about leaving him by himself for the first time. He really is incredibly docile and wants nothing more than to cuddle up against you and go to sleep. To say this year has been rather difficult would be an understatement, but this has genuinely made me grin like a peado in a playground

thought long and hard whether this should go to the grump thread or here.

Because it eventually made me chuckle it is here.

What a monumental waste of time and effort to destroy a cars value, I honestly cannot think of a less suitable colour for this car, pink or canary yellow might make a statement but this is just gash.. It is not like you could buy it for monkey, strip all the crap off and fit the proper lights back on because it would still be a body colour that would make shall children cry and grown men say Gaaaaaaaahhh. And where the fuck do you buy that kind of stick on shite?

This is incredible, it's an HD photo of Mount Everest you can zoom in and explore round.

To get an idea of the scale of things, in the photo just above the direction arrows there are a load of wee yellow shapes which I thought were discarded shotgun cartridges or drinks cups or some other discarded litter.

They're not, they're big tents and if you zoom in a bit you can make out people standing around.

I've been back in Blighty three months, and after 4 weeks, landed a job in a local bakery. The job has changed, as someone left: I am now one of the two van drivers. :D Life is as it should be.

I've been parking my motorbike for a fair old while on the same spot of land (a fair old while being about 14 months on and off). Today I noticed that an application has been made to build a new office block on the site. Does anyone know if I have established a right to park on this land? If so, how should I go about claiming this right in light of the application to build a new office block on the site?

This bloke has just been parking is bike on some disused land occasionally, and now he reckons he'd got a "right to park" so that he can stop them building an office block there, or force them to provide a space for life for his plaggy 90?

How big an area do you cover and what will you be driving?

My beat is very small, all within Barrow; I'm only doing 4-5 hours a day so I'm home by 12, or even 10.30. A tank of diesel lasts a fortnight! The van is a 2001 Citroen Relay, completely shite: I've already had to do a bit of filler-bodging! :D It doesn't need to be a heavy-duty thing as it's only carrying bread, pies and cream cakes. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, cream cakes... it's a miracle any of them get to where they're going. How long can my willpower hold out?

Watch the cream cakes or you will need a bigger van

^ Actually I'm losing weight, people are even commenting! Walking the dog several times a day probably accounts for most of that.

Glad things are working out for you Eddy :D

Thanks to one of the guys on betaboys I have found out a little history on the Lancia I'm collecting on Sunday ..... Link

I am collecting this 33yr old Lancia on Sunday. I've not seen it in the metal, any decent pics of it (less than 2yrs old) and I have no idea how it runs. The only history I know of it is of a "rally" it did to Rome 2yrs ago; during which it broke down 25 times and more than one of them included fire ..... I shall of course be driving it 140 miles home whilst reciting the autoshite mantra "what can possibly go wrong" with a fire extinguisher in the passenger seat

Spotting our very own Barrett delivering a Western SMT Bristol VR some time in the early 1970s...

There is also a pic of him standing next to the only surviving Rover P7:

And there you have it. 2013's AS competition should be 'Where's Barrett?'.

Pre-arrival text message arrives: Does your Maestro have tinsel on it, and is that a stupid question?

Yes, on both counts, Mk1_4dr. Then this happened, ably demonstrating both that the purple sofa is mahoosive (technical term) and the Volvo 960 Estate is just as cavernous as I remember. It's great meeting people with equally appalling taste in furniture and cars as myself (perhaps slightly more appalling on the car front, actually).

Retro Rides Meadowhall has gained another fast brown attendee too (I've only just had chance to upload snaps, what with the house move I'm undertaking atm). We already have the superb Marina on (banded, I think) Rostyles and a Simca 1100 in metallic brown (some call it gold) owned by a gent who's superbly enthusiastic about overpowered Simcas and now we have a brown 1100/1300 sporting the collapsed hydragas look achingly well.

I'm in Germany, and my bird's PC has died a death. Need to check ferry details for the drive to Britain on Sunday, booking email has dropped off the end ofy phone's stored email list - and I can't rembered who the booking is with. There's no 3GS coverage out here, just spent the last HOUR trying to log into my online bank account to trace the transaction. Still no joy. Fucking GRRR!

edit: wrong bollocking thread. DOUBLE GRRR!... and, er, lol.
