Bought this today off an absolute gent of an old man

its in such good condition. I wanted something a bit more heavy duty and this popped up, just serviced and sharpened the blade and it really does push along well.

That looks like the same engine as mine. I don't know how old it is but I've had it over 20 years. Only ever changed the spark plug and it still starts and runs fine.

I’ve got one a bit like that in my shed.  Hayter hobby something?  Bought it in 88 when I bought a 2 bed house off an old fella. He was going to his daughters to live and didn’t need it, and it was pretty new then.  Moved it to Devon with me in 90, but by 92 it went into storage with most of my stuff till the early 00s. It’s been buried in my shed since, not been used since 92!!  No idea if it would ever start again.

Harrier 2. I bet it would with a little fettle. I wanted something a bit old school and solid and this thing just makes me smile.

My Granddaughter has been offered a place at Cambridge.

She still has to get the grades mind.

Seems they want her for their Choir. She sings a bit*.

She doesn't row as well does she?

Used too. River Dee at Chester. Packed it in for some reason, but she does know one end of an Oar from the other.

I suppose she may give it a go. She's very tall. I think that helps when rowing.

Wife's cousin's lad was a chorister at Cambridge. It's a tough gig, if she can hack it she'll get a great education (and earn a bit too)

Cambridge are pretty well off for rowers. Boat race commentary said they had a world champion in the second boat.

Sometimes I really wonder where the hell does my favourite parts shop get their inventory from? Anyway, this box made me unreasonably grin this morningIMG_9897.jpeg.c932839c9d56d6796bc348d509640c83.jpeg

Not just pre-Stellantis, but pre-FCA and before red logo!
Where was this filter sitting for 20+ years? It’s not like it’s an obscure part that doesn’t sell, it’s a cabin filter!
I almost want to put the box on a shelf.

That is a nice box! Buy another cheap shit new air filter and put it inside this box? Then you can sit and admire it for the next few years until it's time to change it again 👌

Never heard of it but sounds a bit like a 70s soft porn film on the lines of the "adventures of a xxxx"

That seems to have (mercifully) escaped my viewing attention. I loved 'Lost in Space', suspect that might be more for the over 60s amongst us though.

The auto hoover is getting very good .

I dropped a chip today , the acoustic pick ups spotted the noise , determined the location .

The hoover then left the comfort of the couch , cleared up the chip .

Then relocated back to the rest area on the couch .... To process the chip ..  without me doing or saying anything .

Later it will go outside to dispose of the chip ...

Then it will start it's secondary job of securing the house ...and warming the feet of the other half .

Dogs do have something a pile of parts don't ..👍

well the security bit works well ,

the dog next door was off its lead again and came over and to have a go at our dog  again on our drive ..... so I gave our dog plenty of slack on its lead .  I dont bother trying to hold him back as I feel he cant defend himself if I do that .

when a Parson JRT fights  the hunter becomes the hunted , FFS he was all over the bigger dog to the point it was happy to get rescued by its owner ..

and our dog wants to go back for more just make sure  ..    these terriers dont give up !!!
