On a serious note, the very people who complain about the press hounding them (and Diana before), are by and large the actual people who buy the papers and magazines the photographers work for .

Stop buying publications that run stories about them and they’re not going to bother chasing them round the world. At the end of the day, it’s about making money.

True to his word, my boss has authorised a rather generous bonus and paid me early.  I don't regret changing jobs back in April one iota...

I've never received a holiday bonus, but last year about this time my wife's boss gave her an 8 cent raise. Now's the 1-year anniversary of when she quit after 5 years! 8 cents is about the same as 1/100 of a British Iota or an Irish Smidgen.

Uptons of Bassett in Winchester Road, by the roundabout with Hill Lane. They also do a good full English for about a tenner and being a butchers they don't have wishy washy stuff like beans or tomatoes. Two eggs, decent bit of toast and the rest is all meat. Can recommend.

I know it's a bit vain to quote yourself but this is the Uptons breakfast as sampled this morning.

It doesn't look too much in the photo but the plate is bigger than it looks. It's more than enough to keep me going til lunch anyway. With most black pudding I'll cut it with beans or hash browns or something. This black pudding I'm more than happy to eat on its own. The sausages are only chipolatas because they cook everything on a hot plate behind the counter so chipolatas cook through quicker. But they are award winning chipolatas.

We arrived at 07.30 in pouring rain thinking it would be quiet. There were only two tables left, and a big queue in the shop side too.

I've clearly had a bit too much to drink this evening, when I first scrolled down to your post, at the corner of the screen I thought your sachet of butter was a Mann oil filter before looking closely 🤦🤣

Got a Christmas card in the post from a slightly eccentric friend of mine.  He had put a wax seal on the envelope.

Oh, you don't seal that way? How strange... :)

Joking aside, driving used to be a pleasure, even fun but unless you're driving at 3am Britain is gridlocked

Yesterday I took my wife to visit her mother in a care home in the town centre, it took me 45 minutes to do the 3 mile drive home

Cars were trapped on a retail park because there's only one exit and the road outside was blocked

Buses were taking an hour to get out of the bus station because of all the cars blocking the exit

Nightmare day, and when they do get into town to do their Christmas shopping there's no shops

The picunto ulez work beater. It’s growing on me. Boss is away for Xmas so it’s mine for a month. Handy as my transhit as refused to start since being snowed in down the drive. Rear seats owt and loaded to the gills, bit bouncy on the rear and dragging its arse like a hound with worms though still as eager as said hound.

Spins the fronts up and likes to rev. Handbrake may be slightly compromised now though.

Looking good 😋

Love a dinner with a face too. And like that pyrex bowl.

Should of added my earlier pic is Xmas eve tradition. My Nan would turn in her grave if we had anything other than the full traditional on Xmas day and rightly so.
