What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I'm still in dumbfounded shock.

I just walked into a main Mercedes dealership and within 30 seconds had ordered a propshaft rubber boot, the associated clips, a throttle cable locating clip, and would you believe a replacement for the cracked lens on the dashboard indicator light?!? All for a 28 year old van.

All on the shelf over in Germany and should be here early next week.

They didn't even look at me funny.

Forgot to ask about the headlight switch, as that looks like someone has been chewing on it and is bugging my OCD. Will ask about that when I'm there to pick up the stuff next week.

It was purely a "I'm driving past the door so I'll give it a try for giggles if nothing else" thought!

Staggered and impressed!

I've found Mercedes dealers to be quite good, even when I went in to the Arnold Shark version in Dundee a couple of years back they were friendly and helpful. I think I even had a posh coffee made for me whilst they were looking for my bits of fuel pipe for an 18yr old c class, which were not as expensive I as expected.

I think they (like Jag) have a classic parts division to support older models.

Asda finest discounts.attachicon.gifIMG_4817.JPG

That's painful when I had to pay £23 for 5 litres, then get robbed for another £13.85 for the extra litre (at a petrol station) I didn't even realise that I needed! I hate rural living sometime. No Asda for bloody miles.

Me and the missus had a trip over to Leeds to see my sister and her husband for the first time since our mums funeral in March.

Lovely day, went for a nice meal then over to my niece's place for a quick visit.

Top day out.

Just thought I'd share it with you all.

Offer #1 on perfect house rejected, Offer #2 has gone in. However, as a back up more house hunting was done and another potential house was found with a dangerous amount of car storage space.

The only dangerous thing is not enough parking.

I'm putting the Wrenchvolt grumpy cure number 1 into action. Wake up early, shit shower shave. Good breakfast and plenty of productive efforts planned. Don't let the bastards grind you down!

Looked at Mars with my Dad last night through some astronomical binoculars.  He's a star nerd, I'm a lesser star nerd (he has more time).

Absolutely amazing.

Sounds fucking awesome! I saw a bat swooping around my kitchen window. The things cheer me up no end.

So I've deleted Auto Trader, Gumtree and unsaved all my saved searches on eBay. Hopefully now I'll stop buying crap.

hahahahahhahahaha

I went and bought this week’s Classic Car Weekly and the Mazda has made it in.

Something awesome will be happening tomorrow, too....

Some of you may have seen this already (looks reminiscent of the XKCD.com house style) but after my pointless dicking around with a non-steaming Vax steam mop last week, it certainly holds up...

The time axis needs changing from hours to weeks, else it's pretty accurate.

Graph needs a negative Y axis for "never speak of this again" and then "I don't remember having one of those" whilst full well knowing you took it to the tip in a black bag disguised as a load of household waste that wouldn't fit in the bin.

No collection thread due to timescales between ad going on gumtree and me driving away.

Tasty ZS diesel. 83k.

Toxic bio hazard interior and bird shite exterior on collection. 10 quid Eastern European inside and out clean.

Blimey better than expected.post-20451-0-37934100-1533238397_thumb.jpg

I know. Really should fix it but I just use my phone for a speedo

Battery must be dead, no warning lights are on or flashing. ;)

It only pings the injector light if I drive briskly when it's cold sometimes I've worked out, ie going to work in the morning. Coming home it's a waft/crawl up the bypass so doesn't do it. Easily driven around until I can be bothered to replace what I have been told is the boost pressure sensor...

Probably what was seeing it off to the scrapyard before ruffgeezer stepped in
