I'm feeling less angry and am managing a degree of inner calm I haven't had for a long while, changing off the Tramadol seems to be helping. Also managed a couple of nights sleep when I haven't been woken up with back pain.

Just saw a tweet about a cat weeing on a bag (was none other than the forum's own vulgalour).

That's not the grin. It prompted a memory.

I spent two months thinking the bloke I sat next to at work stank. Turned out it was my bag, which our cats had pissed on; more than once judging by the smell. It's only just occurred to me that the only thing I carried in it was my sandwiches. Yum.

I've just heard a "Dixie" car horn in the distance !!

And true to form, the last note wasn't quite right :-D

I fitted a set of dixie horns to a 1964 Victor today. Is the last note ever right?

Just seen this cruising near work. It honestly looked like it had been found on the bottom of the Manchester Ship Canal it was being used on after 40 years of being missing and seemed to be housing some swarthy characters. The top 'windows' were cling film or shrink wrap...

Dragged myself to Wickes to buy plasterboard etc which means hours of work - grump - but mood massively enhanced by a brown Allegro Estate and weeny trailer in Wickes car park.

Trundling along a winding Norfolk B-road at 45 behind a giffer in a RAV4, when a '66 Thunderbird comes hooning round a bend the other way, tyres howling and doorhandles almost scraping the floor.  That would have been grin enough on its own, but right up his chuff was a fugging bright blue Rover Streetwise.  Possibly the most unlikely car chase of all time???

As people may have seen elsewhere, I'm now a two-Hyundai owner!

When does the van get a matching V8?

One of my friends is on a train journey. He has summed it up with the phrase: "The Virgin Rail adverts couldn’t be more misleading if the train manager was depicted as a Faun who shits Turkish Delight."

Ha, that van looks pretty dire, Mat. What's the verdict on it?

Better than you might think! It's no looker, but it's growing on me and not unpleasant to behold. Surprisingly nice to drive; Mo thinks so too!

The idea is to have something suited to carrying bikes and dog around more easily, that I don't have to worry about mechanically - leaving me more time to tinker with the Stellar and LT. It was a toss-up between this and a Transit Custom (which I have to say handles even more car-like) but this seemed the better overall.

Have taken great pleasure in spending ages studying some of those 'when you see it, don't say where/what' things on Facebook and then posting the answer below to spoil it for people. It's like a sort of unwanted public duty.

wasn't that so there was no copyright issues?

Grinned like a lunatic a couple of days back.

Car full of...I'll be polite and call them "youths" pulled up next to me at the lights. The car in question was...or at least had at some point been a Seat Arosa, in baby poo brown. It had also been lowered to a couple of inches below ground level, spotted an exhaust pipe I could probably park a coach in, and had wheel that were at least two inches too wide for the tyres. To top that all off, it looked like it had driven backwards through the chavvy accessories aisle at Halfords at high velocity.

The driver decided to make some choice remarks about the Lada, and started bouncing the poor engine in his car off the rev limiter. I did some quick checks - road utterly empty other than the numpties and me. Me in the Lada on my own. 1000kg, not entirely sure what power/torque since I added fuel injection other than "more than stock" and very short gearing...five adults in the Seat, which as I recall is pushing something like 60bhp, and is geared for economy. They didn't stand a chance.

Did I out drag them away from the lights? Nope...I absolutely *destroyed* them away from the lights. Let them catch up at the next roundabout...then did it again. The driver was absolutely livid...his passengers thought it was hilarious though. As did I.

I then gave myself a firm slap on the wrist for getting pulled into such juvenile nonsense and behaved myself the rest of the way home.

Kinda wish I had a dash cam as that would have been gold for YouTube...

I used to own an Iveco daily pickup with the 3.0 engine, when empty it was pretty fast off the line, caught a few knobheads out who thought they'd out accelerate me from the right turn only lane at the lights , yeah fuck off, you're going right
