Last week I dug a load of stuff out of the attic to lob on ebay. Phone has been going "KACHING" non-stop and I've made nearly £1100. Brilliant!

I was bored this afternoon so took a drive up to Aberfoyle and the Duke's Pass - smashing roads and lovely scenery

Having cleared a credit card down to zero and due to close it in a couple of days time. It's a great feeling.

I was at work today and one of the old guys who comes in to visit his wife (who lives there) is an absolute winner, his 2nd car is a pristine 90 spec xr3i cabriolet, we had a great chat about it and other old fords

OMG! POSITIVE EBAY STORY! STOP PRESS!

In other shocking news, some Vauxhalls are reportedly not that bad.

We've not had the fallout of people claiming stuff doesn't work etc yet.

I did manage to get £half of that through the back door as paypal gifts or cash by replying to peoples "how much for cash" offers with a photo of the item with my mobile number and "£100" written on some masking tape.

My friend Hazel (just 70, proper 'petrolhead' - still autotests an MX5!) just said I have a nice face :) So ya boo sux to all those sods that say I'm an ugly old bastard! :)

Also, I am covered in mud. Normally this would be a grump but because it was a 12 week old puppy that did it, it is a serious 'smile'. Beautiful little lass, cocker cross jack Russell, chocolate colour and so sweet (would be being 'chocolate'!)  and it was playing happily with my two and another black lab (Georgie) and a Frenchy  (Poppy) and it kept pinching the big dogs (tennis) balls and running full pelt with them.

Really cute.

And I'm HANDSOME.... my friend Hazel says so! :)

Picked up the suspension pipe for the Princess.  It had two leaks, both now fixed, £24 inc. VAT.  Now the joy of putting it back on the car.

Yay just heard Ozzy man on the voice over for the new Galaxy advert!

Not as shouty as normal and no "destination fucked" but still nice that some normal bloke from YouTube doing well and not another of those grinning fools.

Went to look at a prospective secondary school with no.1 daughter, I was a bit apprehensive as I didn't enjoy most of my time at big school.

Wow the technology and arts department had a laser cutter and 3d printers as well as sublimation printers and vinyl cutters the kids could use for their projects - a full drama studio with lighting rigs and a dedicated costume, make up teacher.

No metalworking stuff though unless it was hidden away so I guess we won't be getting a brazed together stick man bought home.

Boringly the science labs were pretty much as I remembered them no NMR machines or IR spectroscopes to be seen.

Anyway we were both impressed, hope her school memories and experiences are better than mine!

Went to visit the restoration place that's doing a £70,000 tidy up of a perfectly presentable TR4 ( that cost £22k 6 months ago)

Gobsmacked at the work these guys do, mostly Healeys, never seen so many in one place, they do everything , from storing and seasoning the ash to making the wooden bucks that they then handform the body's on.

Must have been millions of pounds of cars sitting in various sheds everything from a 911 2.7 RS and GT40 ( all genuine) to loads of J40 pedal cars .

Better than any museum, sorry no pictures, seemed rude , especially as there were about a dozen blokes working.

And the TR, that we went to photograph progress of? Going to be started next week, when the Paris-Peking 1940 Chevrolet is finished on the ramp.

The BGD came back last night from Specialist cars after its minor faux pas, and it is soooooo clean inside and out you could eat your dinner from its shiny bonnet. Of course, if you did your plate would slide away on the super smooth surface and I would kill you with gay abandon! :)

I hoestly don't know how they do it, when I wash and leather it I always leave streaks and smears and it looks dreadful so I have to polish it, but when they do it, it is truly perfect. In fact, it's better than when I paid a bloke £200 to machine polish it  a couple of years ago!

Also, I swear they have put fuel in it, the gauge certainly seems higher than when it went... or has senility got me again?

I sent an off-the-cuff Tweet yesterday, such is my occasional wont.

Amusingly, such is the dual appeal of it mentioning Father Ted and an old Volvo, it's been retweeted over 180 times so far.

More amusing is the chap in the comments who protest that it's not a Volvo, it's a Rover, because there was one featured in an episode where Father Ted fixes a raffle for such a car. He's correct, of course. It's a classic episode.

However, when producing their late '80s brochures, Volvo were very careful not to feature images of Rovers from comedy programmes of the distant future.

I saw that retweeted today. Some of the comments were hilarious. Who doesn't like father ted????

Every so often I like to trawl through semi-pro short films on Youtube, especially sci-fi - there's an awful lot of polished stuff with dreadful scripting and/or acting, and plenty of dull CGI-fests which might as well be cut-scenes from games. There are one or two absolute gems though, such as this one which I only found today:

It's a tea shop / café type place now isn't it?   I keep meaning to go there instead of wasting holiday visiting the wife's odd family.

It was about 2012 I went, it was just a house then, but they did offer cream tea at some times I seem to recall.

However as far as I know it's not the house they filmed the inside bits in, so I'm not sure why you'd bother.
