An old neighbour popped round last night to see whether we wanted a couple of tons of free firewood. That's worth a grin in itself, but this is what he dropped it off with this morning!

Those wheels are history as soon as I can get up to the abode of E. Cabbage Esq and score a set of 205 pepperpots.

Was a superb morning for chod spotting this morning!

A G reg silver sierra hatch, looked very VERY clean, but looked very original

Some old dear driving an R reg green Xantia

A D reg escort 3 door that I've seen before but it was parked further up the road this morning, so I drove past it

It really has been a great chod spotting day.  Spied a pistachio Minor, a turqoise Rover 100 and sat behind this on my way to get oil for the Renault.

Following on from the other day.

I went and picked up my special ordered exhaust. Can't argue at £28, took it straight in to the garage and had it done in about 15 mins.

I touched the old one when it was off and it just fell apart to this

In other news, Domestic Management is watching an ancient repeat of Ground Force from around the turn of the millennium.  The amount of chod in the establishing sequence was very gratifying.

And my admiration for Charlie Dimmock is unrestrained...

it should be on the grump, but since Ground Force went off air, Charlie and her dimmocks have got old, and fat...

My photo but sadly not my car so I think not in the running for the calendar.  You have to tell me what it is anyway and if anyone says Sunbeam Rapier they will get taken outside and shot.

Talking of welding, I needed to weld up a gap between two pieces of metal tonight and couldn't be bothered to connect up the bottle so tried the reel of flux cored that came with the welder. Not only did I manage to connect the two pieces but It was a better weld than I have been getting with the gas..... Why do I always find supposedly more difficult things easier than the simple things? story of my life...

It did make me grin though ....

Throwing the reg into a parts dealers site says it is a 1962 N/A Model N/A with the famous N/A engine.

The beauty of this place is that I get to see some amazing/shite cars I had never heard of but somehow raises a twitch in my staypressed

Today I made the final payment on a business loan I took out FIFTEEN years ago.  A business that imploded because my health went down the toilet and my partner at the time was a massively abusive arsehole.  Now I'll be funelling those payments into my savings account.  I last had savings when I was 18 and my life has been such a mess since then it's taken until now, when I'm 34, to get back to the start again.  I feel good about today so let's hope this winning streak continues with the Renault jobs I'm doing in a bit.
