mat_the_cat Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Today I saw (and heard) mat_the_cat's V8 Korean Cortina. Burble-tastic.  This post is worthless without sound (I've not actually heard it from the outside, apart from idling...) eddyramrod 1
EssDeeWon Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 All modernz are shit right? Today walking through Tottenham I saw a 62 plate Vauxhall Insignia (or whatever they are called) driving along chucking out loads of blue smoke, and it wasn't even accelerating just poodling along, and it stunk!! Tonight I saw a NEW Peugeot 207 with the headlights on but no rear lights on, even when he braked there was no sign of any lights coming on. By now his probably been pulled over and told to go and buy something old and proper that works. Â
Pillock Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I just went out to my Pug 2008 to get my bag out the boot. As I opened the boot, I could hear talking. From inside the car. Opened the door, and it's still there. The radio is on really really quietly, but the key is in my hand and the head unit is off. I put the key in, turn it, radio lights up and it comes on full volume. Google shows it to be a "known issue" with the 208 and 2008. Nobody knows whether it's only when you unlock, or just at random but the radio will just come on dead quietly. Amusingly, the radio/media/touchscreen is called the SMEG system. Minimad5 and dugong 2
Parky Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Hamilton won the GP, Leicester pulled off an amazing comeback, West Ham won, and I had fish pie for tea. Â This weekend has been full of win!
Bobthebeard Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Watching an older couple trying to figure out what what wrong with their 61 plate Citroen in a car park today! The car was belching out clouds of blue smoke. The guy was revving the engine with his wife crouched behind looking into the tailpipe. Can you actually see the turbocharger bearings/oil seals from back there? skattrd and DSdriver 2
Lord Sterling Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Great day today meeting Heidel_Kakao and Sloth. With the help of those guys we managed to actually get a few little jobs on the Coupe done. The drivers window was lifted up a few inches more so now there is no more wind noise whilst driving along and hopefully will no longer get soaked going through the car wash. Tried to straighten out the boot but we all reckoned one of the arms was bent inward. The electric arial was straightened out so smooth operation has been resumed. This car is hopefully going to get better. I just need a bit of spare money to sort out the blowing exhaust. I couldn't be arsed going home due to local_scum/chav_wankers and thier equally chav_wanker_kids annoying me so I popped the local Mosque for a few hours where the Imam complimented my car saying was very nice! mat_the_cat, Cavcraft and Heidel_Kakao 3
EssDeeWon Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Whats that all about LS? Just a shite area where some shite people live? Sounds grim as you've mentioned issues around this beforeÂ

Lord Sterling Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Whats that all about LS? Just a shite area where some shite people live? Sounds grim as you've mentioned issues around this before Pretty much, since last year, we've has this "Jeremy Kyle" problem family moved into a privately rented house a couple of doors up. That, and the fact that a lot of the chav_twat kids around have come of an age where a lot of them are shoved out of doors after school until way after it gets dark. I made the mistake of continually asking them to move on last year and since then they've been trying to get a reaction out of me, more so since I've come back. My road consist of of a large communal grass area between the pavement and road so they gather on there doing all sorts of shit. Chav_family seem very intent on living up to the problem/wannabe_hard family stereotype. They are dirty, loud and don't give a shit. The housing association don't give a toss as they are making a bit of pin money out of it and the council don't give a toss as they have a "problem family" off thier list. To be honest though, even with them gone not much will change, there will still be the arsehole kids doing arsehole things. When a lot of people come around here, it is deceptively quiet and most people will think it's a nice neighbourhood but of course you have to live around here and experience the shit on a daily basis.
EssDeeWon Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Yeah you don't need all that do ya. There is an estate just round the corner from me with plenty of the Jeremy Kyle types, kids hang around outside the shops with nothing to do of an evening, not personally had any problems from them but I wouldn't bother saying anything anyway because of the 'fuck you' style households they come from. Hopefully they find something better to do sooner than later LS..
Bobthebeard Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 House next door is owned by a Housing Association, so neighbours tend to be a bit of a lottery. Last one was great, no problems in three years. New neighbours have just moved in...... Time will tell.
DS20 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 My nickname for where I used to live in Scunthorpe was Mordor-cum-Kabul. The fumes from the steelworks made it smell like Mount Doom was on the next street, and the neighbours were...well...something else. One lot used to bark at their own dog for fun, another set broke up furniture to burn on their barbecue, and the local teenagers used to have sex at the end of my garden of a nighttime. It was awful and I was pleased to move to Grimsby (!). I sympathise with all those who have to endure nightmare neighbours. Banger Kenny and Bobthebeard 2

Hopefully they find something better to do sooner than later LS..To be honest, I've had quite enough of living like this, I am utterly and abjectly pissed off with this situation. If it's not bad enough living amongst these tossers, I've also got a wife to bring over who is of a different culture, I really don't want her suffering the torments from these twats as that will push me over the edge and I'll end up murdering these fuckers. I'm out of here as soon as someone actually offers me regular work with regular money. I'll be looking for a room down Worcester way hence me looking for work in or around that particular area.
jakebullet Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Attempt #3, and I finally saw the 2 lancasters. True I had to park the disco in a bush halfway up a banking at the side of the A57 and walk a mile, but it was worth it. After the 6 A4's, and the 2 lancs, is there any more 'once in a lifetime' things they can bring together?
willswitchengage Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 is it just me or has anybody else noticed this canny resemblance?   I LOVE YOU JANINE Although on a lighter note it was refreshing listening to the news on Friday morning last week and breathing a sigh of relief knowing that I and millions of other Britons have long term job security again. xtriple Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I put petrol in my car today. First time since I got it (filled up then) and I've had it two months to the day! It took 30 litres....        Yes, I have used it - honest!

dollywobbler Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Do you like the Vulcan? It's having a bit of a tour on Thursday. http://www.vulcantothesky.org/uploads/images/CWT%20Map%202014.pdf It's even going to Norfolk.
DSdriver Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 We had a visit from a Spitfire last SundaySpitfire by DSdriver, on Flickr Bloody difficult to snap with my digital camera, needing different specs to spot the bugger then reading glasses to see it on the little screen. Press the button then wait a random amount of time whilst camera decides to take picture. I have other photos of just the propellor and another of half a Spitfire. michael1703 1

cort1977 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Turns out that laggy throttle on the Merc can be cured by a reset procedure for the gearbox electronics involving holding the accelerator down for 15s.  No new TPS required, back to normal, happy days. myglaren and chaseracer 2
