A collegue at work was telling me he saw a really nice R8 parked outside earlier, it took about 30 seconds for me to realise he meant an Audi not a Rover

Just found this in an Autotrader ad.

Seems to be half a Scotsman doing a Highland fling (jig?)whilst lying on a garage door in the back of a V70.attachicon.gifimage.jpg

Bloody long day yesterday but pretty ace as it goes. Got up early and shot up to the local fabrication place for some steel which was technically shut but someone was there so he let me in. There wasn't any 4x2 thinwalled box and I didn't have any cash on me but he let me pick up some perfect patching material from behind the guillotine for free.

Dragged that home and chopped the rot out of the disco for four hours before work.

Work was the easily the best shift ever, the gaffer wanted a lift up to the dog's at Wolverhampton. He had offered me a ticket in as it wasn't worth driving back. It was a great night that saw me drop the last chap home at 4am. They've insisted on paying me right through from 5pm and I won some money at the track too. To top it off the last chap I dropped off has offered me some work vinyling up vans and whatnot.

Glad I agreed to that little job :D

^Only on AS would you take the trouble to pose by the Lada estate and ignore the gorgeous (1928 Lincoln?) Phaeton next to it! :-D

Halfords in Burnley have got 3 clearance bins, including one full of connectors, switches and bulbs for 10p. Filled a basket with stuff :)

That plus 200l veg oil at 65p/l is much bargainous

Father_DS20 had a 740GLE just like that - reg. F968RLL, I think - same (cool) wheels anyway. After the second electric aerial / garage door-lintel interface, said aerial was replaced with a springy whip-aerial item. The temptation of listening to Radio 3 ALL THE WAY INTO THE GARAGE remained too great for Dad (switching the radio off would've saved the first two aerials. I loved that car; it was replaced (company car) by a 940GLE, H52GLY, that just wasn't quite as good (seats less comfortable, more interior trim fell off). [/ramble]

I received some not as good as the previous time I used them service from an eBay seller. They offered a partial refund once I'd confirmed delivery, so I mailed them and they said they'd pay me back in full if I leave good feedback.

An honest, decent person would tell them to shove it and use the feedback system as it should be, i.e with a truthful and fair appraisal. But fuck it, 'G8 SRVIS THX WUD USE AGEN'

Rossi winning at Misano today! That definitely made me grin, 35 and still rocking the MotoGP world. Bloody good race as well, at least the first part... until the new wunderkind fell off!

Note: I like Marquez as well, it was just great to see Rossi do it again after fifteen months without a win.

I have a cold/man-flu/black death, or something similar.  That is making me cough not grin, but the self medication is working well, so far I have finished the Talisker and the Glenlivet (don't worry they were already open) and I feel much better.

(So far the only ebay casualties have been two chequered flags and a Mercedes bonnet emblem, hopefully I won't wake up to find I've bought something embarrassing or another car, or both)

This post is brought to you via spell-check.

That mostly-not-in-shot Princess photograph is a sure fire contender for calendar picture of the month.

In other good news our 2014, 1,134 mile Nissan Navara Genocide Megalomaniac Bastard pick-up has thrown up the particulate filter light already.

The designer of the mk1 Capri, Ford Ka and Ford Focus, Claude Lobo:

Regarding the design of the Focus, Lobo was a smoker and located the ashtray high on the instrument panel, enabling the driver to use the ashtray without removing his hands from the steering wheel.

The alloys are pretty distinctive and from a Rover, it's only this and the fact I'm such a SAD BASTARD that I can identify it.

Been pricing up paint tonight and found that for the required amount it's going to be about £100 including postage (unless I find a local supplier).  I can get colours I like and I can get the same paint I used on the Polo which was seriously tough stuff and nice to work with.

I can either spend several weeks on prep before giving a professional sprayer the car and at least £1000, or I can spend several weeks on prep, about £150 on paint and materials and do it myself.  No contest really, it'll just take me a bit of time to sort.

^ Chinese G.P. layout?

No, just a random track we fancied doing. Track length was about 55 metres, fastest lap of the evening was 19.7 seconds!

Lots of track, lots of fun. We do it once a month.
