Summer Fun Day at work... righto...

Normally I'd not bother with any of this team building malarky but decided to this time knowing that 99% of our department are miserable dogs.

So shorts, Hawaiian shirt, a matching Lei and a big straw hat topped off with my scruffy everyday DeWalt boots.

Bought a HP 4050 laser printer off evilbay, spares or repairs for 11 quid delivered. Listing implied it was out of the shite cupboard, but spares just in case it doesn't work.

Hmmm, no toner cart, top door falls off and a lot of small plastic parts fall out as well as a substantial looking roller. It's a dud then. For giggles I plugged it in, added a used toner and it prints! Amazeballs!!! 770,000 pages on the clock.

If there was such a thing as old printer banger racing I'd want a HP. Must be nearly indestructible.

Remembered the car boot sale today. Got a Bronski Beat LP for £1, love Small Town Boy and now I get to hear some others they did.

Such a different experience to downloading album after album and having thousands of songs to choose from on itunes.

Long live vinyl!

Charity shops and car boot sales are like vinyl Russian roulette but you get a lot of bargains.

Been collecting for 2 years and I've amassed 1300!

|Found my camera today, lovely Nikon 'bridge' camera which has been lost for the last year. In it were my log in details for photobucket so I've been posting random piccys all over the forum. Not much really, but it made me smile!

I've had records as long as I can remember, before even... I had a Fisher Price record player that played nursery rhymes like a music box!

Its rained a lot here today.

A lot.

Coming home this evening a young blade in an old mid-spec Focus saloon went charging past me in the left hand lane here.

A few minutes later I found him looking sheepish facing the wrong way in the middle of road here.

Possibly lift off oversteer but certainly driving like a dick.

Hopefully he learned a valuable lesson without the usual damage to metal or flesh.

^^^^ Whenever I see those now, I chuckle at the old 'my vegetarian friends wont travel in it' thing from way back when.

No picture unfortunately but I saw an actual MG6 today driven by a chap who I can only assume paid money for it and wasn't borrowing it from the dealership or something. It was in a nice copper orange shade and looked quite good, in a bland sort of modern car way.

It's the first one I've seen outside of an MG meet or dealer.

I saw one today at a car show (dealer stand) in that nice copper colour! I even sat in an MG3 as well.....horrible dark hard plastic dash and interior.

Posted

I've seen one with a private plate on it!

Also a couple of MG3s, which I keep mistaking for small Renaults from a distance. (The inverse is also true of new Méganes).

Posted

There's a chap a few doors down from my in laws with a black MG6, it's the only one I ever see about though.

I saw a silver Monza GSE too, Id just relented and parked mine up, and set off to town on my push bike!

I sat in an MG6 at AvailableCar. It was really nasty feeling inside, all hard plastics and afterthoughts.

Ha ha been on my hols for the last 2 weeks, now sitting here playing catch up this may take a while.

Sainsbury's Star Destroyer carpark in London Colney. Parked across the way from a Fat Fiat 500 Bloatmobile. It had been parked straddling two parking bays as it is simply way too massive* to use a normal space.

Then a woman aged around late 50's, pulls up, squeezes into the space between the bloater and the next car. Her new'ish Beemer is parked a gnats nut hair away from the bloater (drivers side). She gets out, looks at the gap and walks off laughing. I like her.

Mr and Mrs. Chavwanker plus brat return, look bemused and he slides over from the passenger side and reverses out carefully. It was not as Jeremy Kyle as I'd hoped but I am easily amused. It beat the shit out of actually shopping however.

^ I followed a new Fiat 500 a few days ago and it was indeed huge - as big as my C5 in height and width, don't know about length.
