Drove round Rockingham in the Charade. Great fun.

I was mightily tempted to come to that gathering. A lack of funds rendered it impossible.

Yesterday gave the green MGF a wash and went zipping along some nice roads, all the way to Crews Hill. So that was one junction of the M25 and then the Ridgeway :)

However, my steam engine mate was bringing his 1926 Foden steam waggon up to steam and then we pottled off for a brief run around the outskirts of Enfield. It brought a lot of smiles and waves from random folk in cars and so on. Lovely. It had been about 3 years since I sat in the cab and it was great.

Ken, a pal has just sent me some old photos from 1985.

Do you recognise this dapper looking geezer...?!

I'm pretty sure that Farina estate with the Magnette front on it has been magazine featured at some time ands got a Perkins Prima in it. Seem to remember it was on Westminster hubs and ro-styles though.

I have been informed by a motoring publication that my Princess shall be featured in the near future.  Nothing big or fancy, but it made me smile as I wasn't sure anything would come of it when I submitted the info.

Well Saga insurance have come up trumps again.

When we bought the Outback we wanted to keep the Outlander insured for about a month in order to get it freshly MOT'd as a good friend is having it, and not having to ponce about sorning and detaxing.

Tried the temp insurers, but nearly a full years cost for a month, sod that, so SWMBO contacted Saga who the main policy is with.

Bloke at the other end did a years second policy for just under £200, which we have now surrendered as the Outy is gone, so we should get around £160 back, very pleased, also the 3 litre Outback was only about a fiver more to insure than the Outlander, so a total of £12 more for that policy incl £8 admin fee which i aint complaining about.

Phoned 'em up today to give 'em the good news about the LPG system its now got, they contacted the underwriter who checked on the LPGA website, found the car is duly registered as converted with an approved installer and all certified online,...result nothing extra to pay and no admin fee either.

Result.

Parked in a layby on the A45 near Coventry , I'd just got my healthy breakfast wrap from Canley Macdonalds . I heard a car with a loud exhaust giving it some stick. I looked up expecting to see a Corsa or something , but no it was very aptly a dark blue Triumph hassling a BMW 6 series( new type). At first I thought it was a 1300 but it was more likely a Toledo as it had some modern looking alloys on it, either way it cheered my morning right up.

Then in other positive news ,I was discussing with one of my daughters what car she wanted now she's got a couple of years no claims and we need her Arosa for her sister in a couple of months. I suggested something older, she didn't dismiss it out of hand, so I showed her some things in the tat thread. Most she dismissed as horrible old bangers, but, she liked the orange FE Victor ! So I might have the excuse to go shopping for some 1970's chod ,as long as it's orange or yellow.

I know that Triumph. It belongs to a mate of mine and it is a 'tweaked' 1300FWD. Those are indeed modern alloys on it. That car bloody shifts. There should be some utube clips of it in a hill climb.

Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7_RPfsctIA

Hahahahaha!!!! I do indeed recognised that particular chap. Excellent photo. Still the same hairdo but more padding round the middle. Wait till I tell him. Excellent stuff.

Sorry but I can't do anything about the utube embedded thing, sorry.

I was behind a lovely pale yellow Triumph TR250 yesterday evening. I didn't know there was such a thing but Triumph seemingly only produced it for a year. Lovely car though. Made my evening.

This has made me want a Mitsuoka more.  I love the ridiculous styling of the le Seyde and if money were no object I'd definitely have a collection of Mitsuoka cars.

Sitting in an anonymous bar in Central London having my dinner on my own, feeling a bit grumpy, when on the stereo comes Kingdom of Rust by Doves - a great song and strong contender for Autoshite theme tune (very old thread).

Someone on here introduced me to it, and to my shame I've forgotten who it was. Thanks again anyway. Cheered me up a treat.

Whoa! Where do I sign?

Japan... from what little I can find out the Le Seyde can be got for about £10,000-15,000 imported and comes with anything from a 1.8 to a 4.7 engine.  I suspect Ratdat may know more as he's into his obscure oriental stuff and Mitsuoka is about as obscure and oriental as you can get.

Loved the stripey seats on these S Fords. First Cortina I ever drive was an early white Mk4 1.6L with green seats.

£12 for numberplates - they have come down in price ...

Interesting to see that invoice, without it anoraks ( like me?) would be commenting on how it's ok except for someone putting Ghia alloys on it and changing the pressed plates for plastic!

Although Douglas Hurd was not hanging out of the window when I saw it.

As for the TR250 , I think this was just for Septics, basically a TR5 without injection, somehow doubt it meant how many bhp though.

so was it "the doctor" or that affordable classics place that bought it?

Please post up every picture possible of the Corrina S, one of my favourite ever cars.

I believe he's just a collector, he already plans to remove the rear fogs and get it serviced and use it for a few shows.

I've been researching Mitsuokas, and the Le Seyde in particular... there's a lot of grin-worthy stuff to be found about them. The write-up on the website of a chap who imports them here (http://www.mitsuoka.co.uk) is more entertaining than informative. Check this out

There is no special car. Originality and classic styling to fully enjoy the appreciation alone is not enough. Normally ride. La SEDO premise that if you ride and break equipped with modern features. This is a purely practical car. Early breathå¹ãÂÂ込んã (Classic). The classic car is the only mainstream dynamic styling, it was like watching a car, maybe. The original elegance to leave the car and ran to his roommate's La SEDO. Just go in the car. Ribbon equipment such as wheel spokes and tires DITIRU loyalty is bright. But it is not alone. Bend strength tests on the safety standards of about 2.8 times the mainframe. The body is stronger than 7 iron to 14 m / m use of FRP. I don't know what the hell that Japanglish is meant to say but this one sounds rather erotic

Enjoy the car. It is not enjoying themselves? While fondling engine run. Just rub it to be a happy feeling. That's one car, one, with the value of the car as I have. Alone, a pleasure to meet people who exist only because the car is good. Somewhere to go, but it is intended to run there will be a good car. Run from it is immersive, show scenes from the drivers seat, the sound coming to be honest. The car only悦ã³have entirely different. Hyundai cars are put what has gone adaptations, "Dore (DURA)."
